Okay, I called and made a priority seating/advanced reservation/whatever-it-is-called-these-days for Goofy's Kitchen. I've been to WDW before and made priority seatings but I remember them giving confirmation numbers. I didn't get a confirmation number for Goofy's Kitchen - do I need one?

Also, I am a member of AAA - I've read on Mousesavers that AAA members get a 10% discount at Goofy's Kitchen. Has anyone used this discount and know how it works? Was I supposed to mention that when I called?

Can we park at the Disneyland Hotel during our breakfast? Does it cost to park there? We're planning on going to the beach afterwards, so I'd rather just have our car with us for convenience.

We were just there last weekend for the first time and loved it!

We go to DLR often, and always go to at least two restaurant with Priority Seating. The do not give you a confirmation code, they say your name is the confirmation. It is a bit nerve-wracking, but I've never gotten to a restaurant to find I'm not on the list.

We are AP holders, and it was easy to get the AP 10% discount. At Goofy's, you pay before you sit down, right when you check in. I just showed my AP and the cashier applied the discount. I would imagine it works the same way with AAA discounts, just show your membership card.

And for parking. Our initial plan was to walk over from Harbor, but it was HOTTT last weekend. My nieces were in custom made princess dresses that had a very heavy silk/satin material. I knew that we'd never make the walk without meltdowns, so we decided to drive. We had planned to just splurge and pay for valet parking. Imagine our surprise when we got there and checked in with the parking attendant, when we learned that if you are going to a restaurant in the hotel, the valet parking is free!!!:woohoo: You just have to show the receipt when you leave to prove you did go to a restaurant. So for a few dollars tip to the valet, that was absolutely worth it!

Hope that helps!!

Thanks for the response! I feel a lot better now hearing about the no confirmation numbers thing.

When I called to make our ADRs and questioned the no confirmation number thing, the CM said, "Well, here at Disneyland we are all about simplicity ... don't you have enough things to remember about your vacation without adding some 30-digit long number for each restaurant?" Obviously, other WDW vets have questioned him before! :lmao:

I have nothing new to add, but wanted to thank the OP for asking, but oscarkitty1's reply taught me something new. :goodvibes So far we have only been to Lilo/Stitch and Chip/Dale, and I thought "you don't pay ahead of time, what is ok1 talking about?"

And then I realized that the two I've been to offer both menu OR buffet, so of course you pay after the meal! But for the ones with one way of serving obviously it only makes sense that you pay before! Can't believe I hadn't realized that before.

So can I expect to pay beforehand for Ariel's too (and Minnie's, should we ever do that), since there's only one way of getting your food?

Yep, you pay on the way in - and get a cute button at the Minnie and Friends breakfast. Lots of characters there too - Max, Minnie, Tigger, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Mary Poppins, Chip......great photo ops. The Mickey waffles were great too - my son loved the made to order omelettes.

I'd like to have a late breakfast/brunch @ Goofy's in Dec. We'll spend some time in Disneyland, hop on the monorail in Tomorrowland, take it to the drop off by RFC (noticed this when we ate there last month) and walk to DLH. Afterwards we'll walk back to the monorail station by RFC and take it back to Tomorrowland.

Ariel's you pay for after your meal. At Minnie's you do pay beforehand, as you go into the restaurant if memory serves. Storytellers you also pay afterwards.

OP: Just show them your AAA card (they sometimes ask if you are a member) and they will give you the discount. You check in and pay at the same place. You also get the AAA discount at the Minnie and Friends breakfast inside the park and I believe the other character meals as well. And yes, you can park at the DLH for your breakfast. They have a lot, parking garage type thing and you can also valet. You just tell the parking lot attendant as you go in and he'll give you a thing for your windshield. I had no idea you couuld valet for free, you learn something new every day!!

Be sure and take sometime to explore the grounds of the DLH, espeically the Koi ponds and waterfalls back by the Wonder Tower. They also have some very cute remote control boats sort of between the main pool and quiet pools. Its a lovely hotel.

This seems like such a great idea! I hadn't even thought about using the monorail. We have 11:30 rez's at Goofy's. Does anyone know how long it would take to get to DTD on the monorail? Is the station in Tomorrowland crowded, or is it easy to get on and off? Will it be quicker than walking, or just easier?

It takes just a couple of minutes on the monorail from Tomorrowland to DTD then another few minutes (no more than 5 depending on how fast you walk) to get to Goofy's Kitchen. At that time of day, there should be hardly anyone waiting to get on the monrail at Tomorrowland and very few on the return trip. Monorail is definitely faster than walking - easier, too.

Have fun. My family is at DL today without me :sad1:

I called last weekend to make my ressies for Goofy's Kitchen and they just gave me my name as my confirmation. I questioned it as well. I'm use to a long number at WDW.
