Goofy's Kitchen on our first night or Surf's Up on our last morning?

Help! I'm trying to decide if we should do Goofy's Kitchen for dinner on our arrival night (no park that day) or Surf's Up (or Goofy's Kitchen) on our last morning (no park that day.) I like the idea of the character's costumes at Surf's Up, but I feel like the food selections aren't as many as Goofy's Kitchen. We have picky eaters and some that don't particularly like breakfast food (that would be me, ) My sister really wants to do Surf's Up, but I am not sure. I am trying to decide if we should do one or the other or both, although that seems a little overkill. If we did Goofy's for dinner on our first night, does anyone know of any other places around Anaheim that we could have a nice breakfast on our last morning?

If it's in budget, I would do both (Goofy's for dinner, Surf's Up for breakfast). If I had to choose one, I would do Surf's Up. I find the character interaction and the food to be superior here. And I would probably eat some place in DTD for your arrival night

We always do Rain forest cafe for breakfast on our last non park morning. I like the atmosphere and then we shop a few hours in DTD before going home.

I agree with one of the previous posters. It would be great if you can do both, because you get a different experience and atmosphere at each one. Not sure if this will make a difference, but Surf Up’s is the only character dining that Mickey shows up at, as well as Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

I was trying to decide between the two and ended up going to Surf's Up, and I'm so glad we did! Daisy was very important to my 3 yr old and it's the only place we saw her! Like pp said, the interaction was awesome! They had a bunch of little dance parties up front with Mickey and some of the others, so ds got more time than just when they came to our table.

The price difference (especially when paying for a 10-year-old as an adult) could sway you. But if some of you don't eat as well at breakfast, it might cancel out the food value difference. I think the food is more brunch than breakfast if that helps you.

For me it would come down to whether I was going to eat or to see characters, and whether I wanted it to kick off my trip or be one last awesome thing. Both are great options.

We did both on our last visit, Goofys at the beginning and Surfs Up at the end.

We loved Surfs up because of Stitch and Daisy, but found the food to be better at Goofys.

That is exactly what I am trying to decide! At first, I wanted to do a Character meal as a Goodbye, but now I am wondering if it would be funner as a Hello!!

This is what I am thinking of doing. I don't think it would be in my sister's budget, but I am thinking about just taking my kids to do Goofy's for dinner on our first night, and then everyone together for breakfast at Surf's Up on our last morning.

We generally do our character meal as our god-bye, and it will be Surfs Up on our Nov trip. Last Dec., we decided for our character meal to be our welcome, and did Goofy's for dinner for the first time. My sister ALWAYS does Goofys for dinner on day of arrival. If you can, do both. If you cannot, consider the characters. We chose Surfs Up for Stitch & Pluto, although you can get Pluto at Goofys quite often.
We are very anti-Rainforest Cafe in our family, so that place will not get our vote.
