Well I said when we got back that I would do up a review of the Goofy's Kitchen dinner, and here it is, no pics though cause I just don't take pictures of food, not my thing.

We ate at Goofy's at 6:00 pm on Monday, Sept 6th.

When we went to be seated Pluto was not around so we were seated without having a picture taken (not a huge deal). The place a packed (not surprising) just like it is at brunch.

The food was absolutely TERRIBLE. We have done brunch many, many times, in fact we had brunch at Goofy's on Friday, Sept 10th and it was fab. But dinner blech...

All of the supposedly "hot" food stations were barely warm. The salads were no different than those offered at brunch. The pizza stations were all the same as Brunch. They had macaroni and cheese, plain noodles, with butter, turkey meatballs, all of which were barely warm. They also had "popcorn" type shrimp instead of the chicken nuggets they have at brunch, the nuggets are better.

The "prime rib" which is actually some sort of carved New York strip thing (they call it) was so undercooked it could have still been moving, they also had lamb which was cooked horribly. There was some sort of fish, the chef's special which was really just the fixings for a soft taco (chicken, bell peppers, etc.) there was also some sort of vegetable and potato.

The dessert offerings were the same as at brunch.

DH and I tried to sample a bit of everything and it was all awful.

We will never, ever have dinner at Goofy's again.

Also, I should add that the characters that were at Goofy's for dinner that day were also at brunch a few days later.

If you're keen on eating with the characters I would highly recommend brunch at Goofy's, much, much better and a better value for your dollar.

I mean breakfast, Goofy's closes at 12:00pm.

We never eat there earlier than 10:00 am so for us that's brunch since we skip lunch and just have dinner later in the day.

That's too bad. I don't think I've ever eaten anything at DLR that I thought was truly terrible (Universal Studios, yes, but DLR, not yet). BUT, the couple of times I had the Goofy's dinner - in the distant past - I wasn't into it for a few different reasons.

The Goofy's breakfast/brunch, however, has always served me well - it's been good for me 98% of the time in 17 years of eating there (and counting)!! I will definitely not take any chances by switching to dinner, and I will stick to the breakfast! It's my favorite place to eat in DLR when it's breakfast!

By the same token, there are other folks on the DIS who didn't like Goofy's breakfast at all but really enjoyed dinner!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: There are so many varying reviews on all the restaurants that it's hard to tell what's what at times.

I've had dinner at Goofy's before, and while it wasn't terrible, both DH and I agreed that we much preferred the breakfast - which we always schedule for late brunch time.

I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience.

I'd like to put a :thumbsup2 review for dinner at Goofy's. We went 8/29 for my DD's birthday (since we did the same thing for her sister last year). I was a little apprehensive since reading some not-so-hot reviews recently. But our party of 8 was happy and satisfied. DH who is the carnivore, LOVED the new york steak...went back for 3rds. My dad said the lamb was a little dry or tough, but I didn't try it. We'd be happy to go again for the next celebration!

Thanks for the review- nothing you mentioned seems like anything I would eat so I will definately stick to Brunch if we ever go.

:thumbsup2 Love their breakfast, we were there on 8/25 and no complains here either. We had done it about 4 times and thought the food was good, service was fast and character interaction really good, characters take time to talk to the kids and to play around. We go there early: 7:30 a.m.!

I'm really glad to hear that, Heymy. It seems for a while like there have been increasingly more negative reviews for Goofy's - to the point where I have been wondering if they got an all new staff or something. I realize a lot of it has to do with people's personal preferences and tastes, but it seemed like too many people were starting to give bad reviews - even people who had previously loved Goofy's (like DizNee Luver). So it really made me wonder what had changed there in the kitchen!! I know that all the DLR restaurants have their on and off-periods, so I guess they all hit their 'off' stages at some point!!

I'm also an early eater. I know there are people who like to hit the later breakfast/early brunch hours, but I'm with you - I like to go in the 7:00 a.m. hour!!

I agree with the OP. Pretty much my same experience. I even got sick later that night and haven't been back. Breakfast is OK though.

Another vote for "Goofy's for breakfast and not dinner."

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I swear, next time I go there for breakfast (which may or may not be in the next few weeks), I am going to tell them that people on my board are complaining about the dinner! I told them last year that I was a mod on one of the big DLR planning boards and that I would report back on service and food. The CM at the front said, "Oh? Which board?" He was very familiar with the DIS.

I don't know who they have working the night shift, but it doesn't sound like they are doing a great job at cooking!!

We were thinking of eating here on our last trip so I actually went in and walked right up to the different offerings and had noticed that my feet were sticking to the floor all over around the food areas. I asked my wife and kids to come over to see what they thought and we all agreed that it didn't look very good. This was in the afternoon time. I couldn't believe how sticky the floor was. I hope I caught them in an "off" time. It was gross to say the least.
