Your meal looked delicious, sorry you didn't like the cake and although I've never had it I think it would be a bit too sour for me, I like sweet desserts :rotfl:

How cool about Darth Vader on Star Tours, Goof will remember that for a long time :)

Oh and Hi to Heidi from me too :goodvibes

WOW...what an awesome trip Jay!!! I am finally all caught up and once again I am loving your TR! But you knew that already. I just adore the way you do Disney with your sweeties. It is fun to read how different each one of your sons liked to tour Disney on their one-on-one trips!!! I STILL say little LP (aka Buzz) deserves his special Mama time...lol...(wink wink). Hahahahaha! :goodvibes

HI Disney Jo!!!:goodvibes

Jay, great update! :thumbsup2 I've never gone to the Brown Derby but am definitely going to do it next trip (and definitely skipping that cake! I hate grapefruit!)

WoW another great day!!!! I love the Darth Vader story, that is too funny!!

Tick tock....tick tock....!! LOL!! :surfweb:popcorn:: (Hoping to read more of your TR soon Jay)!!! Miss ya!

:flower3:Hey Jay! Just wanted to 'pop' in and wish you a Happy Mother's Day on Sunday! Hope all your boys spoil you for the day! Any new trips planned? ;)

Sorry guys, I am here, I promise not to jump ship. ;)

We've had a lot going on lately. We had about three feet of water in our finished basement and that led to a LOT of extra work around here. Thankfully, things are finally cleared out, dry and now we are working on finding the best way to make sure it never happens again.

And on the positive side, it's sort of kick started our to-do list. It's impossible to just put things off when they are soaking wet and sitting in your house. ;) It's boot camp for the to-do list slackers in us. :rotfl:

You have had quite a bit of stuff go bad lately. I remember not to long ago it was your washing machine???? I couldn't imagine having my house flood. Was it weather related or did something break?
Things can just look up from here! I had a bad morning and I went to the post office for work and a small child told the clerk "guess what? I got a new video game" and then I leave and a great Bible verse is on a van. I thought that need to have the eyes of a child with no cares in the world and that made me cheer up. Go figure ;)

The Evening of Day 5

Upon our return to the Boardwalk, Goofy and I spent some time sliding through the clown's mouth and down into the pool. That slide is F-U-N!! You go so fast and it's so long. We both think it's a great pool slide (and our favorite so far at WDW)!

After we tired ourselves completely out, we went back to the room and took a quick cat nap. An hour of sleep felt decadent. Yes, decadent, as the mom of four boys, naps are something I NEVER get to partake in. So, when the opportunity presented itself, I grabbed hold and enjoyed every snoozing second if it. ;)

And then, it was time to get ready for dinner. Instead of heading over to the Yachtsmen Steakhouse tonight, I had made a last minute change, on this evening, we would be returning to The Flying Fish Cafe. Both Goofy and I thought that one meal was NOT enough and wanted to return. Upon arrival, I saw someone with a glow cube in their drink, Goofy didn't even have to ask for one. :rotfl: I have this big soft spot for all things that glow and so I 'had' to get our drinks as well. :rotfl:

His children's menu appetizer choice was fruit skewers with yogurt dip. It was actually a dessert offering but they let him switch it out as an appetizer choice.

My appetizer was a gamble. I knew I liked the crab cake here but I was really in the mood for shrimp so I ordered the chilled, wild caught, Gulf Shrimp "Cocktail" . Three (I think) large shrimp rested on top of shaved radishes, frisee lettuce and spiced hearts of palm. It was covered with a creamy verde sauce and drizzled with chive-infused oil. It was a VERY tasty dish and I was not disappointed in my choice. The presentation on it was lovely as well.

Goofy chose the kids fish as his main course. On the menu it was listed as breaded fish on skewers. Goofy would rather have his fish roasted or grilled so we asked if that substitution would be possible. We were very happy that they were able to substitute a grilled portion of snapper instead. It was served with roasted red potatoes and glazed green beans. There was not one crumb left on his plate by the time he had finished it.

I had the signature New York Strip Steak on a bed of fingerling potatoes with wilted greens and foyot sauce. It was DELICIOUS!

Neither Goofy nor I can remember what his dessert was. BUT, we both remember that he really enjoyed it. He remembers fruit being skewered on a Mickey straw and brownie chunks but I sadly didn't write down what it was called. And, once again, the concierge had noted that we were celebrating his birthday this trip so it came out with a candle and small chocolate happy birthday 'sign'.

Sadly, the same is true for my dessert as well. I simply forgot to write down what we had. Again, I do remember liking it (or at least the few bites I had room left to enjoy). Here's a picture of what I had, does anyone know what it might have been? Ha ha ha, yes, I cannot even remember when I look at the picture. I know, I am getting old fast. :lmao:

As we wrapped up a great meal and headed out to the boardwalk, we stumbled upon a magician just starting his show. He was highly entertaining and even asked Goofy to assist him a few times during his show.

Another performer. This one 'whistled' instead of talking.

A quick shot of Goofy before we headed back up to our room. I love the smile he has here.

The rest of this evening we split our time between the club lounge and the snacks we enjoyed there and floating around in the pool. It was a great relaxing way to top off a wonderful day. :cloud9:

Sounds like a great evening, Jay!

I'm with you. Naps are pure joy!!!!

Hugs to you & your family.

p.s. Hi Heidi & Figment!

Yet, another great update, Jay. I had forgotten to see if you'd done one (I have been trying to keep up our PTR...yes, we're going "home" in September).

Hi Jay!!! I'm so glad you are back! I'm sorry about the water in the basement. :guilty: Never a good thing.
Love the new update... looks like a fun evening of good food and great entertainment. :goodvibes The Boardwalk at night is fun, lots of people to see and enjoy.
So I am wondering when the big moment is coming?? I am really looking forward to the surprise coming up! :thumbsup2 You make the best trips full of excitement! :)

Somehow I missed your post about your basement! That stinks, hope the clean up is going well.

Not sure what the dessert was that you had, but it sure looks tasty!

Sounds like a FABULOUS end to the day!! I love how happy he looks in all the pictures!

I absolutely love all the pictures of Goofy! :goodvibes He looks so happy in all of them. The performers on the Boardwalk look like so much fun.
