Goofys Candy Co.

A couple of years ago, my daughter had a make-your-own marshmallow made...she picked almost every topping, and after it was done, we weighed it at the counter and it was 2.4 lbs!!!! It was incredible...and it took her all week to eat it. That was back when it was included in the DDP and the lady who was making it was extra generous with the toppings...we bought one last year and the lady making it was extremely "cheap" with the toppings. We still love Goofy's though, and will probably buy the treats OOP.

I love stopping in there once I discovered it 2 trips ago.

DH hates it. He thinks the ladies take way too long to make the stuff, and he doesn't care much for sweets so it's not worth waiting for in his opinion.

So I don't get to stop in there much but make sure to enjoy it when I do.

We haven't been to Disney since 2005....we got the mickey head rice crispy with choco ears premade as a DDP snack....so that is no more or just the custom ones?

Is the Goofy Candy company where you can get the tubes filled with powdered candy? That was the only make your own last time we were there. I was thinking of making coupons for the kids this time letting them pick out one thing each...good to know about the marshmallows....I LOVE that!

It's our last stop before heading to the airport. A little Disney magic to have when when get home.

I'm not sure about your first question as I've never done the DDP.

You don't technically "make your own treat" at Goofy's (like you don't physically do it yourself). You fill out a sheet of the different things you want dipped (rice crispy treat, pretzel rods, marshmallows, fudge cookie [which looks like a giant Oreo cookie and tastes like it too!], etc.), what kind of chocolate dipped in, toppings you want it rolled in, and if you want anything drizzled on it. You pay for it and turn it in and then they make your treat and call your name when it's ready.

We were there last week and none of the make your own had the DDP, now as a disclaimer, I didn't ask either, but the sign didn't have the purple logo by any of them like it did with the premade ones in the case. :

That sucks. I was so looking forward to doing this on DDP in May... Oh well... Might do it anyway!

BTW I LOVE your avatar!!-- Did you go to WVU (I did from 2000 to 2004-- I was also in the Pride!).

I am so bummed that the make your own treats are on the DDP anymore!!! :sad1: We got the rice krispie treat the last time and it was such an amazing use of the snack credit! We are so doing it anway though. Definitely one of my new favorite things to do at Downtown Disney:lovestruc

You can still get the premade Rice Krispie Treats with or without the chocolate ears on the DDP.

They do have the tubes to fill with powdered sugar. Other places in the parks also have these powder sugar stations.

The only Create Your Own that was allowed when I went was the marshmellow one. I think it depends on the CM, as others were able to get pretzels or gingerbread cookie.

Omg Goofy's is the best place in all of Disney World! We go multiple times a trip, and it's always a first day stop. It's a good deal no matter what they charge.

I love it so much that for my wife's birthday (the cat in jazcat) I decided to recreate some magic. I got apples, caramel, Oreo cookies, reeses, mini m&ms, white and milk chocolate for melting and even made a homemade goofy's form for her to fill out.

Problem is, I had cooked such a great birthday dinner she wasn't hungry!

Well after looking at all the snack photos of the pretzels, krispys and marshmallows we are totally going to do this even if it's not on the plan. YUM!

We were there from 94 to 97. Had several friends who were in the Pride as well. :thumbsup2

I've never done the make-your-own treats, but after seeing all the pics on the food pic thread, we have it on the schedule for the 1st day! I'm drooling just thinking about it - haha! :)
