DAY 10 - 24th December 2005 Christmas Eve :)

Weather Report: Sunny, a few clouds, highs in the low 70 degF. Mild evening.

Magic Kingdom and Dinner with Goofy

As we had a reservation for dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern we decided to make a day of it in the Magic Kingdom. Especially as we didn't know how busy it would be later in the day.

We arrived at the front of the MK at around 9:30am and there were already long lines at the turnstiles, but they moved quickly :)

Julie and the Girls on Main Street

Once in, we headed up Main Street to Thunder Mountain - but it was down with technical troubles, so we grabbed a fastpass for later and headed to Splash Moutain. There was only a 10 minute wait!
Julie and I ended up at the front of the 'log'. I got off quite well with just a wet bum, but Julie got soaked LOL. All she complained about for the rest of the day was her wet knickers!
When we walked (Julie squelching!) out of Splash we noticed that BTMR was now open with hardly any standby line, so we jumped straight on.
After BTMR we headed round to the Haunted Mansion where we were met with a 5 min. wait!
Must be something about the ghosts but we all came out of HM feeling hungry. So we headed back to Peco Bills for a nice burger :)

Dining Review:
Me - Double bacon burger with fries. Yummie :)
Julie and Jade - Burger with fries.
Nicola - Double bacon cheeseburger with fries.
All - stuff from the toppings bar :)
Drinks - 4 cokes
Total cost - $36.77

After lunch we took a slow walk back to BTMR to use our fastpass and then walked back and got a fastpass for the Jungle Cruise.
The main reason we headed back this way was to sample the delights of Aloha Isle :)

Dining Review:
4 Pineapple Dole whip floats :)
Total cost - $12.74

Julie with her whip!

We sat savouring our floats while watching the world go by before heading back to Pirates. Longest wait of the day so far here - 20 mins.
After using our Jungle Cruise fastpasses we headed round to get a Philharmagic fastpass.
Because the sun was out and bith DDs had not brought their sunglasses they decided they needed baseball caps. So we headed into toontown to the judges tent shop. I can't believe how long it took them to choose a blooming hat - so long it was time for our Philharmagic fastpass when we came out of the shop! Love this show, but have noticed the show is better if you sit towards the rear of the theatre - you see more of screens at the sides.

It was over to Tommorrowland next to catch 'Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' show. We had missed this when we went to MVMCP, so we wanted to see it. Quite enjoyed it :) It's not everyday you see Mickey and Minnie in bed together LOL
After the show we grabbed some fastpasses for Buzz and the girls took a restroom stop. By this time the crowds were building up in the park and the queue for ladies loos were right outside the door! They should learn to go standing up like us men - no queues in the gents toilets ;) Perhaps they should introduce Fastpass for the ladies loos!

After grabbing a quick drink and a bag of chips (Lays) we found a seat and had a rest. We thought about having a nice ride round the TTA, but there was a huge queue to get up the escalator! Never seen a queue for the TTA before!
We wondered back to Buzz and waited the 2 mins. for our fastpass time to arrive (CM insisted we wait the 2 mins.!).
I think I must have had a fault gun because I didn't win!

When we came out of Buzz it was approaching our Dinner reservation time. So we took a steadt stroll over to Liberty Square. We had a 7pm ADR and arrived at 6:30pm. I let the CM on the front desk know we were there and took a seat. We were called at 6:50pm (when I say called - they announce you to everyone, very quaint!).
We had a good table towards the back of the room on a raised bit. Our server appeared and took our drink order, and soon returned with food and our drinks :) I quite enjoyed this meal, especially the salad. During the meal we were visited more than once by Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Minnie :)

Dining Review:
4 Adult dinners (Turkey, Ham, Beef, Mash, Greenbeans, Salad, Gravy and Mac 'n' cheese), all served family style. We had two helpings of the meats.
Drinks - 4 cokes (free refils as always)
Dessert - Apple cobbler.
We all seemed to enjoy the meal, although Julie wasn't too sure about the honey coating on the ham.
Total cost - $95.40 (inc. DDE discount)

After dinner, we wondered round to BTMR and found a short 10min wait, so we had a quick ride - it's much better in the dark :)
We then walked back to the front of the castle (via a quick ride on the carousel, although Julie had trouble getting her leg over the horse!), to watch Holiday Wishes.
The plan after Wishes was to stay and watch the 10:30pm Spektromagic parade, but it had been a long day and we were all feeling the strain! So it was decided to head back to the Dolphin.
There was not lines for the bus and one pulled up almost straight away. We were soon off back to the hotel for a well earned sleep and to wait for Santa :)

A long day, but a wonderfull one :goodvibes
