So, we're saving up for a 2012 trip to WDW :banana::banana:.

My husband and I keep separate money (looooong story) so we are saving up individually for our half of the trip.

These are the ways I'm skimming money to pay for our trip:

I took the average amount of $ I was spending eating out at work, and now I keep track of how much the food I bring every day for breakfast and lunch costs, and subtract it from that. In the last four weeks I've saved over $50.

We started couponing, and I'm saving about $10 a week so far. That money goes straight into the Disney fund.

And my latest is that on my phone I have a checkbook app, and when I spend money (check or debit card) I put it in as the next dollar amount, rounded up. Then at the end of the month I can go back through and see how much "extra" is in my account, and move that to the Disney fund. (So my gas this morning was $25.40, but I put it in as $26, and now that'll be .60 towards the Disney fund. I'm going to let stuff ride like that until the end of November, and then add it up.

So far for October I've got $110 saved up, which is way over the $50-75 a month I was hoping for. And I didn't even miss it! ;)

:woohoo:

We keep a jar and whenever we have some extra money we put that in there. It's fun to see it grow! So far I took my jury duty checks cashed them and put that in the jar. Then I sold a framed painting I've had for years for $70, our old garage freezer brought in $50 and a class that dh took that he got paid to take thru work for $100. All that went into the jar.

I also plan on taking $100 a month out of my ebay sales and put that in the jar.

We save change but that doesn't bring in much since we use our Disney Visa for almost all purchases and bills. We've got $400 in reward $$ at the moment.

We don't have a Disney Visa but we don't use cash for much, so the random change I grab around the house usually only comes out to a few bucks a month, so I had to be more creative. ;)

I like this idea!!!

We don't use coin change. Anytime DH or I get coin change back we put it in the Mickey fund. I don't carry any coins in my purse and he doesn't in his pockets either. It adds up after a while especially if you buy something for say 3.20 and get .80 change, that goes in the fund.

Good luck
