Any info on Goofy's Sail Away Party? I heard it is around 5pm. We will be sailing on the 7 day Eastern and have the early dinner seating. Will we have time to enjoy the party?:earsboy:

If I recall correctly, the sail away party started at 4:30pm or pretty much as soon as the lifeboat drill was finished. I think it only lasted about an hour. We had early seating and had plenty of time to enjoy it prior to dinner. Remember that the first night is casual dress and is the only night that shorts are not frowned upon in the dining room. This is because not everyone will have received their luggage prior to early seating.

You will have plenty of time to enjoy the party before dinner,
you will also have plenty of time to get ready for dinner.

Just relax and enjoy!

Plenty of time to enjoy the party directly after the drill. My husband and I don't have any young children, so we hustle over to deck 10(?) --- above the dance floor---and get a table next to the rail. We enjoy a drink and watch the show...my favorite part being the looks of awe and wonder on the faces of the little ones! Not to mention some of the crazy dance moves going on! My son better get married soon and give me a grandbaby!
Enjoy!

Is this Goofy sail away party different from the Bon Voyage party? (The one where I am planning to bring bubbles and wave to CM onshore with giant white gloves?)

If so, where is it located and should I get there early to get a spot so my really small DD(2) and DD(4) can see all the dancing? :crowded:

Nope, same Party. Just be prepared to dance and have a great time.

Same party! If you want to dance with the characters and the dance crew, go to Deck 9. If you want to watch from above, go to deck 10. We still dance on 10, but we also get a table and are able to watch the party from a great seat!
Have fun!:rockband:

Thanks to all of you for the information. My family is very much looking forward to the party and the whole trip. It will be our first Disney cruise. I think my 3 yr old will be thrilled along with my 7yr old niece!:D

On my last cruise I missed the sail away party because I was in the Vista spa getting a pedicure as the boat pulled away from Port Canaveral. On our next cruise I'm not missing it!! My DD would love to dance with the characters (DS will probably be hiding somewhere behind DH or I) so we'll try to get a good spot on Deck 9.

My DSs 4 & & wanted nothing to do w/ the dancing at 1st, but were sure glad I had a spot up close (dancing alone at 1st :cool1: ) when the characters came out. You should've seen them dancing then. We had a blast & enjoyed drinks from the pool bar too.:drinking1

Happy sailing!

We also had plenty of time to dress for dinner. The "party" doesn't last too long - maybe 45 minutes. Get there right after the drill, stopping just to drop off your lifejackets. There is maybe 30 minutes of dancing (the Macarena, the Electric Slide, etc), then the characters come out for a short show.

Sorry, but I need more specific directions. This is my first cruise and I want to be sure my kids (and me!:teeth: ) feel the magic!

Is this at the stage by the Goofy family pool, or is it more towards the Mickey pool?

Thanks.

This is by the Goofy pool and we found it a great way to get the party started!

The kids just loved getting into the mood with all of the characters and the music. We took some fantastic pics, too.

Have a great time!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

My apologies.

I did not mean to be obnoxious and post 3 time. My browser froze when I first sent it, so I killed the window and waited a few minutes and then tried to send it again. It froze again, so I used my "back" button to send.

My bad. :duck:

They cover the Goofy Pool for you to stand on as well as the sides of the stage. Get close and you can be right there and high five Mickey or Goofy or whoever. It is a lot of fun. Go to the opposite end from the bar, that's where they will be.

It is on deck nine, in the middle of the ship. It is a lot of fun!!!!!!!! They also do other activities there during the week that the characters appear at and the kids can get up on stage and dance with them.
