Our PhotoPass Pics
Day Two: Tuesday, September 13th
Scene 1: Pop Century 830 a.m.
Isnt it ironic that when you want your children to wake up early they decide to do the opposite? Nevertheless we managed to trek to the bus stop by 8:30. The bus pulled up seconds later and we were at the Magic Kingdom before 9 a.m.
The opening session in front of the Train Station is a nice addition. Zoe loves characters so she ate it up. Amanda just couldnt understand why there werent more princesses. Oh well.
Everytime we go to MK we are told by countless numbers of folks: oh it was dead here yesterday. That never proves to be the case for us since we seem to draw crowds around us. It was crowded and it wasnt unlike every other visit, even in September. But there is no better place to be.
We managed to get to Tomorrowland and do Buzz Lightyear. Of course right as we were ready to go in was when Amanda decided that she needed to go potty. But she decided that she could wait for at least 10 seconds so we jumped on board.
We headed to the potty and Michelle rode Space Mountain in the meantime. Amazing. She got in line, rode and exited behind a crowd amazed by the video on the escalator and still got done before two five year old girls were done in the bathroom!
After we met up I rode quickly and then we grabbed a quick snack before heading to Fantasyland. Before we had kids we had always avoided Fantasyland like the plague but for some reason that was not an option now.
We rode Dumbo and then headed over to Snow White since Poohs ride has amassed a crowd of about 5 thousand toddlers. We then hit Small World before trekking back to Mickeys Toontown to say hi to the big guy.
The crowds had diminished for Mickey and most of the other characters (we saw them all!) and then headed to Goofys Rollercoaster (Amandas favorite)
We hit the teacups and then were just about ready for Cinderellabration. Amanda had been looking forward to this since I had told her about it. Unfortunately so had a trillion other little girls. But she still had a blast.
We had been able to plan a 12:10 seating at CRT Lunch and had just enough time to get around to the entrance after the show. Amanda was thrilled and Zoe actually ate her food. She was annoyed that Mickey wasnt there though.
After lunch we moved over to Adventureland and rode Splash Mountain. I was shocked that in spite of it being about the temperature of the surface of the sun, we walked right on. We were going to do BTMR but the line was about 30 minutes long. So we headed to Pirates which Amanda decided that she was ABSOLUTIVELY NOT GOING TO RIDE. But Zoe rode with me.
We then got to Aladdins Magic Carpets and hit the Jungle Cruise before getting ready to head to the Animal Kingdom.
Scene 2: Animal Kingdom about 4 p.m.
I had forgotten that AK had a parade now and we hoped to get to the last Safari outing. We managed to just barely but this late in the afternoon is not a good time to see animals. I think there were more birds than anything else.
We then grabbed supper at Flame Tree BBQ, which Zoe and Amanda love. After supper we saw Mickey and Minnie (yes again!) and then went and saw Its Tough to Be a Bug. The girls werent scared but neither were they very impressed.
By this time it was about time for AK to close so we decided to head back to POP to give the girls a chance to swim.
By 900 p.m. the girls were in bed and asleep. Isnt life wonderful.
