Goodnight, Stars!

When my daughter was a baby, our bedtime routine included saying "night-night" to the kitchen and livingroom, her toys..etc. On the way up the stairs we would stop on the landing under a very high up window-almost a skylight, really-and say Star light Star bright and so on. Then I would wish for her happiness.

By that time, her head would be on my shoulder and her thumb in her mouth..already dreaming.

It was my favorite time of day.

Goodnight, Stars

Yes! We did hijack the thread!!!!! I'm a weavel.

Some background on Good Night, John Boy...

Back in the seventies, there was a tv series, in the same feel as Little House on the Prairie, only set in the 40's-60's? I'm not sure of the time frame.

It was called "The Waltons"

They lived on Walton mountain in this big huge white farm house.

The grandparents lived with the family that had a zillion brothers and sisters.

Every show ended with the family turning out the lights on their nightstands as you hear them telling each other goodnight.

The last one was Goodnight, Johnboy.

It's one of those long time joke things....like

Luke, I am your Father (Star Wars).

If you didn't know, it shows how young you are, and how old we are. :rotfl:

Thanks for the history, I guess my mom must have liked the show. I am SO going to call her today! I am 20 and I don't think anyone here is old. :teeth:
