Goodnight Mickey at the Train Station

Can anyone tell me more about this? Is it just a character greet at park close?

Mickey stands on the platform that the train usually runs on at the close of the Magic Kindom and waves good night to the guests as they leave. He is on the platform -- guests are on the ground -- near the giant flowering Mickey flower bed.

I'm not sure though which nights this is done. I have seen it on two or three separate occasions. I would guess probably not on an evening when there is an EMH at the Magic Kingdom.

How late after closing does Mickey do this? I want to try to check it out one night.

I have to say that I really love watching this at the end of the day. On our last trip MK was open until midnight and DD7 couldn't stay awake that late, so we didn't get to see it. I really missed it!

Sorta confused Is Mickey at the front of the park as you leave on the platform? I never knew he done that and I would love to see it.

I've never seen this either. But I'm wondering if this follows the Kiss Goodnight where they have a little light show on the castle and they pipe in some sort of good night prayer/thank you to the crowds?

We are going to try to catch both....I'm thinking if we stay put after the fireworks, the Kiss Goodnight comes maybe 15 - 30 minutes later, then we file out to the train station and we wave bye to Mickey? Anybody know for sure?

We saw this in early December - we were exiting the park right around the posted closing time (well before the kiss goodnight). Hope that helps!

when I was walking out of MK after MVMCP I saw Mickey up at the train platform waving. I walked over to take a picture of him and I was the only one there got a picture of mickey waving to me

I was just there on Sunday and he was there right after wishes was over. And everytime I have been he has been there at the parks closing. I don't know about the EMH because we never stay for that, but I have seen him the last few times. It is kinda cool and a great ending to a great day!

We've seen him, too, after Wishes. We were walking to the bus, near the 75 Mickey statues (this was a year ago) when my 3 1/2 yo DD looked behind us and yelled "Look guys, it's Mickey!" My 15 yo nephew was like "yeah kid, we just saw 75 of them" and she rolled her eyes at him (cute when a 3 year old does it, lol) and said "it's the REAL LIVE Mickey!" - and there he was up on the platform, lol.

Last summer i saw Mickey wave goodby at Mk and at Epcot ,the Cms and characters were waving there also.
