Goodings...Rude re-awakening!

I think you can get the food list with prices on the DVC member site.

I've decided that since my time is at a premium on vacation and we drive to WDW that I'm going to bring my groceries from home from now on. I can just pack up a cooler with our perishables and if our room isn't ready upon arrival it can be stored in cold storage. Its nice to know where the stores are in the event that we desperately need something we can't get on property (echinacea tea comes to mind...) but I think I'd rather not spend an evening of my vacation at the supermarket anymore.

Goodings is ridiculous!!!! I stopped there for diapers last year. A regular size package of Luvs (Not jumbo) was $19.99!!!!! I buy that same package at Wal-mart in MA for $7.77. I think the price difference is disgusting. We always go to Publix, on the corner of 192 and 535, haven't tried the one on Vineland rd. yet.

but I do not care if I am on vacation or not.....I refuse to be ripped off on groceries. We enjoy the selection and prices at the Superwalmarts and SuperTarget stores. The SW on 192 in Kissimmee is an attraction unto itself.

Way back in '93 we were staying with my brother's family at the "Disney Vacation Club" and he and his wife went over to Goodings. We couldn't help but laugh at what they were paying for groceries. We refused to buy anything there and went to a Publix. I really never shop at Walmart....we have super type stores here in southern Ohio like Mejiers, but we find the selection and prices at the "super" type stores with groceries run by Target and Walmart to be great places to shop in the Disney area and over in Daytona Beach when we vacation there.

I feel like if I shop at a store with extremely high prices, I am contributing to their mischief.

Has anyone used a food delivery service other than Disney?? I read on one of the other boards that someone use a service and thought it was great. I can't remember the name now!?!?

We absolutely love the Publix that is located over behind the Premium Outlet Mall. We ordered a holiday meal from them and it was great and so easy, and I know we will definitely do this again. That Publix has beautiful produce and all the "snacks" you can possibly imagine to emjoy in your villa. While they always have people in there, it is not swamped like the Super Walmart. They do not have a "card" that you have to have to get the deals, just specials availble to everyone.

We frequent both the Publix and the Winn Dixie when at WDW, and I prefer going into the Publix myself.

Gooding is no good!! We made a big mistake last time we were in Disney. The prices are too HIGH and make sure you check the exp. date.

When we first joined DVC we shopped at Goodings. We knew the prices were steep but it was convenient and had a great selection of what we wanted. Then we got wise and now we shop at Publix.
One of the things that always bothered me was that I could not get bottled/carton/refrigerated grapefruit juice in Goodings. They only had canned and not much of that! Here I was in the Florida citrus belt (and only 26 miles from the Citrus Tower) and couldn't buy grapefruit juice! I couldn't believe it!
I prefer one of the local brands but will get a national one if the others don't have red grapefruit juice. Maybe that's why we take a trip to Clermont to get fresh squeezed grapefruit juice!;)
Now it's Publix all the time!

We usually shop at Winn Dixie, about a mile down the road from Goodings and have always been pleased with selection and prices. On our trip last May, I needed a couple of things midweek quick so I thought I'll just run into Goodings. They didn't even have exactly what I wanted and what they did have was so overpriced. I walked out and drove down to Winn Dixie.
