I shopped garage sales and Goodwill for a month before the trip, buying little things for .25-1.00 and put them in Rubbermaid bins labled "going" and "coming home".... that way, they had new stuff to keep 'em busy Good luck!
I've been gathering plenty for "going" and thinking a 2 day car trip won't be too bad with my DD 6, DD 4, and DS almost 3, but I hadn't really thought much about "coming home"
That's funny! I'm sure we'll be fine, but I do keep envisioning "going" and not really "coming home"....LOL
For coming home I like to pick up park treats like the mickey pretzels and small suckers at the candy store. We also always get a new park CD to listen to and I save at least 1 new movie for the drive home. Ususally they are really tired and nap more on the way home. I have even went to the bottom of the toy box and wrapped up some of thier own toys or books that have not been out for awhile for the drive. When Mc Donalds has "good" toys in the Happy meal I will go thoughout the year and save the toy as a car surprise. I keep a little box in the laundry room and toss things in so I am always ready for the next trip.
