Goodbye Main Street Bakery....

If it is a full fledged Starbucks location, sure I will.

No, if only that left of MSB as we know it now is some offerings and of course same location. If it turns to be not the case when I should admit I was wrong, will you?

I just think its a shame that Disney World has to have something that's now in almost every strip mall.

This is one entertaining read tonight. I'm just glad I don't care one way or the other, or I'd be banging my head against the same wall many of you are.

What?

We're really going to compare THE castle that MK was built around, and the symbol that is used in all of Disney marketing to a bakery at the front of the park? Come on.

Still on a vastly larger scale, you possibly compare the dress changes to the princesses. And no, didn't bother me at all. They were enhanced and upgraded versions of the dresses. They all look like themselves and they dresses look better.

You can hardly compare the symbol of the entire company with a single bakery.

Yes I can compare it. It is about design and feel of it. Castle is the icon but MSB is icon as well even if it does not mean much to you.

I am personally happy to get some good coffee...or even better, a latte. But if Disney never made this change, I would be happy with that, too. There will still be plenty of junk food throughout all of Disney World and having better coffee to go with it is great!

Walt manipulated corporate sponsorship better than anyone. He also believed the parks should always be open to change. The angst people are expressing seems more appropriate for real. Important issues.

Comparing a bakery change to a castle change is rather ridiculous.

This post makes no sense but to I did answer and tell you when I would admit I was wrong. You still haven't said you would, you simply try to deflect again.

May I ask how long you've been going to WDW? This isn't the first time the bakery has been remodeled/refurbished.

It doesn't have anything to do with me. It's THE castle. When a Disney movie starts Tinkerbell doesn't fly around a bakery. In promotions, the bakery isn't lit up with Christmas lights. Your kids aren't getting a makeover next to a container of pastries.

The castle is THE symbol of MK. While the bakery may be 'iconic' and an original entity, it certainly is not THE symbol. The feel of MK is not focused around the bakery.

You can compare it all you like I suppose. But it isn't even close to the same thing, nor comparable on the same level.

But I also said that no, the color of the castle wouldn't really bother me.

Icon definition-A person or thing regarded as a representative symbol of something: "icon of manhood".
How exactly is the bakery an icon?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

This made me literally laugh out loud.

And I am especially thankful for the bold part. :thumbsup2

I have the answer--it's obvious. I think we should turn the castle into a MSB item. You know, like this:

MSB is iconic to Main Street, sure not as big as castle but still. Why do you think so many people are upset? Do you really think just because of SB in parks? Everyone wants good coffee. Place they SB somewhere else, everyone would jump, except SB haters of course.

If Disney was refurbishing MSB without adding SB and changed the colors and the tiles, etc would you be this upset? Would you be up in arms if they painted the walls a different color?

They have to update these things. The tiles they used 10 years ago aren't available today. They'd have to change.

If they keep MSB goods available with the addition of the SB treats, whether they change the structure or colors, while keeping the theme intact and the same there should be no issues.

To Kelly. . . you did NOT answer these questions (which were directed towards you in response to one of your posts). I have looked through the thread and you have not answered them, would you care to?
