Now that it is official that the name of El Pirata El Perico is being changed to Tortuga Tavern,what exactly will be changed?Thanks.

I would love if they had a park QS location to serve caribbean food, maybe some jerk chicken or other specialties.

I would love, love, love a Pirate Character Meal, & I don't know why they haven't done one yet! I think a character meal w/ Jack Sparrow would be harder to get an ADR for than CRT!!

Also, I hope Tortuga Tavern is actually open when we're there in September. El Pirata y El Perico has never been open on our last 3 visits, & we were there in May & June!

"We're toying with the idea of actually opening and serving food".

I was going to say something similar. They'd have it open more than "less than seasonally".

The chances of the food being anything original or creative are...almost zero.
Your best bet for eating at MK, is to board the monorail and go to one of the resorts.

At least I got to eat there once. Every time we went it was closed,finaly last July It was open and now there closed again

It wouldn't be little girls or boys. It would be women in their 20's and up well and maybe some men also.

According to the Disney food blog, it is still opened "seasonally" and retains the same menu as before. The only new things are the name and the decor. It is not a TS and there are no characters.

It would be interesting news if the restaurant was ever open! I have been to WDW quite a few times and I've only seen it open twice. The first year they did the Pirate and Princess parties it was open during the party we attended. And we went once during President's Week and it was open that weekend. So at least we've eaten there!

Unless you count when it was serving a limited Pecos Bills menu duirng PB's refurbishing, it has always been closed on our other trips.

It does seem that the Magic Kingdom gets a sick bit of fun out of taunting visitors with names that imply alcohol but then yield only sodas.

Liberty Tree Tavern will now be joined by Gaston's Tavern and Tortuga Tavern

Why go through the trouble of renaming the place and redoing it just to serve the same food? Or to be closed as the case may be.
