Goodbye Alien Encounter!

With the exception of "dumbing down" AE, the attraction in that space has always improved. I enjoyed "Flight to the Moon", then I enjoyed it when it changed to "Mission to Mars", and I really loved AE the first time I experienced it. On my last visit I found it more funny than scary. Why don't we see how good the next version is before we start to criticize?

My ds who just turned 7 will be so excited. He loves Stitch. He remembered Stitch's new show on Saturday last week and wants all of the new Stitich bedding in the Disney Catalog. I called the day after I received it and already it was back ordered. Hope it comes soon.

I really enjoyed Alien Encounter and it figures it is closing before I get to see it one last time. If you want to revamp an attraction, what about Snow White or the Tomorrowland Speedway? No offense to Stich, but this was not really a movie to make into an attraction.

I am not a happy camper about this.

There talking Alien Encounter away? Oh man. I only got to ride it once and it broke down on me so I only saw the first 2 scenes. Ow man I won't be able to ride. I'm going to miss Skipey:( :( :(

I 'm sad to see it go. I would just close my eyes and let my imagination run wild. Seeing others' reactions to the first time they encountered it, whether it be laughing hysterically or sheer terror was just priceless. If you want family friendly take a spin on the teacups and watch Mom & Dad puke their brains out. That makes some special memories.:o

Now that's a real Kodak moment but don't remember seeing any of those special Kodak signs near by the teacup:)

I'm glad to see it go. Adding Stitch to the line up will be a great move. My kids will love it as will I.

I definately will miss this ride. It is not one that I ride each trip, but I do enjoy it when I do. But it will be nice to have CoP open and I can't remember what Timekeeper is.

Have a great Disney day.

I can't remember what Timekeeper is.

TimeKeeper is in the old Monsanto Circle-Vision 360 theater. It is a wonderful 360 degree movie with a time travel theme. The "host" is a robot voiced by Robin Williams. Great movie. Great show. No clue why they keep it shuttered. It can't be terribly expensive to operate and its a lot of fun.

I like AE, buy hubby never cares to go on it. (We usually atek turns since we have 2 small kids for many attractions.) He lets me go and just skips it. I think it is very scary and good fun, but if my oldest daughter saw it I think she would seriously ahve a heart attack.
As for Timekeeper, I've never evn been at WDW when it was open. Exactly how long did thsi attraction stay open?
I don't understand cause I saw the Disneyland Parsi version and thought it was nice. I woulnd't thi k it woudl be too expensive to keep running...

does anyone know how long it's been since cop was revamped? .we have only been to it once maybe 10 yrs. ago and it was badly in need then. have never gone since, mainly cause we never wanted to. last time I think it was closed

It will be a sad day, indeed, when Alien Encounter closes. I cannot think of another "thrill ride" attraction primarily for adults that doesn't aim at making your dizzy or want to barf.

It's too bad that Disney doesn't see the value in further developing what made them famous in the first place: audio-animatronics, theming, and theatrics.

Brilliant, just brilliant.
