Good trip but overall disappointment

Welcome to the DIS!

All the parks are real killers this time of year. It's so hard to enjoy yourself in that situation. If you try another time of year I'm sure you will have a much better time. I'm sorry that this trip was a bust for you.

I agree with most of the other posters here.. Try it again at a less crowded time of the year and you will LOVE it!

Sorry your first experience was a bummer..

One of my neighbors just returned from 5 days at WDW. This was their first time and could't believe the crowds. They wouldn't listen to me when I warned them that Easter week is worse than July. Live and learn.

Give it a try in a less crowded time.:D

bj -- you should have read these boards BEFORE going to WDW.

If this is a trip report from Easter weekend, all we can tell you is, "DUH."

And it looks like you've completely missed the point of EPCOT. You went for rides? Looking for characters in World Showcase? Again, "DUH."

    Wow! Can I be a vet patient of yours?.....Not!

My sister lived in Orlando for a short time, and frankly ,was not obsessed with "all things Disney"-so did no research. They made their one and only day trip to MK on a Holiday......never went again. I really feel sorry for those who do not know about the "Early Entry/Magic Hour". If you are not on site , you have no idea that particular park will be overcrowded.

Funny at the World show case is where we saw the most characters! They were on a bus and then got off and we saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Daisy (first time) Brother Bear and Koda, Bere Rabit, Balu and I think one other! It was wonderful! So yes you can see lots of Characters at Epcot. We also so Aladdin and Geni and a guy from Hunch back....
We went 2 weeks before Easter the crowds weren't too bad. Epcot was great had to use fast pass but they gave out a surprise fast pass with Mission space to Honey I shrunk the audience. MGM was fantastic. Never had fast passes work so smoothly. We were able to get them rather quickly in the morning for late afternoon rides. MK was a shocker...packed! Animal kingdom no problem...
Shame you didn't have the best time but I think any first trip is hard and then put lots of people and hot weather.....can be a night mare!
Hopefully you will go again!
Welcome to the boards!

because that is when our anniversary falls. Crowds were not like summer at all. They were there, but not what I am seeing described here. Our vacation has fallen during spring break, maybe just not so close to Easter. I'm glad we chose Oct for our last two trips. Sept is the next. Hope we are not sorry about that!

Hey Britta Jade~ Welcome to the DISBoards~

don't be offended by Doc's remarks... when she said "WE", she only meant herself.. most of us are not that rude to newcomers. It is a shame if you didn't find this board before you went to WDW, it's a wealth of information. I do hope you give WDW another try, we love it and can't wait to go back.

Actually, I bet she is an excellent vet and I bet she loves animals.
I am more concered with how the vet treats the animal than I am with the way the vet treats the owner. I also like that some people will speak their minds. Perhaps it could have been better phrased, but, you have to allow people to be themselves.

Sorry you had a disappointing experience.

We went to WDW during Spring Break in 2002. I was prepared and with lots of planning we did everything we wanted to in one week. We also had a great deal w/ the American Heroes Cert. so I wasn't paying full pop. Early Entry didn't exist then, the Character Caravan did so it does look like that has made an impact. After visiting Sea World last week, I can tell you Disney can handle its crowds very well. I'd do Disney again during Spring Break, we'll do Sea World in the summertime when DS is older.

We did see a lot of characters in Epcot. In fact, the double decker bus stopped right in front of us. DD saw Baloo, Minnie, Donald, Rafiki, Gepetto and Piglet in about 10 - 15 minutes.

Chalk it up to experience. You'll make different decisions next time and have a good excuse to go back.

Spinning-" Funny at the World show case is where we saw the most characters"!

I was just about to say the same thing!

DS and I went on Sunday morning (April 4th) and while he was playing video games in Roads To Tomorrow-West, I went wandering around with the camera. The character bus had made a stop in front of Leave a Legacy and that's where I got most of the character pictures from this trip!:)

TC:cool:

Unless you are a Disney resort guest, never, I repeat never, go to an early entry park! We made this mistake on our first trip. Then I discovered the Unofficial Guide & the DIS. Now we go to WDW armed with knowledge! Stick around these boards. BTW, welcome!

I was at Epcot on Easter. We didn't arrive till noon and our fast pass was for 5pm. WE skipped the big rides, but were able to walk onto imagination. We ate lunch during lunch time at the Land with no wait and no problem finding seating. Had a short ten minute wait for the Land boat ride. We also went through the countries and it wasn't as crowded as I had anticipated. I was expecting lots and lots of crowds.
