Good Summer Reads?

Any particular genre?

or

What are some books you've previously liked?

Ever read "The Prince Of Tides" by Pat Conroy?

One of my favorite all-time novels.

Not into Stephen King novels, other than that, I'm open to all genres.

Things I've read lately that I would recommend are:

The Lake House - Kate Morton (mystery/historical fiction - couldn't put it down)
Life, Animated - Ron Suskind (non-fiction, but fascinating)
Considering Kate - Nora Roberts (light and romantic for the beach)

And of course, I love the Harry Potter series, if you haven't read that!

I'm reading the Poldark trilogy right now. Before that I read Whiter than Snow, which I would definitely recommend.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (or really, any of her books)
The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand (or any of her books)

I was just coming to post The Lake House - just finished it a couple of weeks ago. Loved it! Will definitely be reading more of Kate Morton's books.

I'd also like to recommend The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult.

These 3 are my favorite books so far for 2016.

Oooooh, Me Before You! YES YES YES! Read that last year - it's a book you will never forget.

Just finished, Me Before You....amazing.
I received the sequel, After You from Amazon a few days ago, can't wait to start it.

For non-fiction, some Hollywood memoirs I've read the past couple of years that were fun: "Born Standing Up" by Steve Martin, "I Remember Me" by Carl Reiner and "I Must Say" by Martin Short.

If you like history and international intrigue type stories, I highly recommend Steve Berry. My favorite of his is "The Romanov Prophesy," first book that ever gave me book hangover. His books are fiction based around something from history, not historical fiction, but something from history wrapped into a story. Also,

Some of my recent favs:

You (bk 1) and Hidden Bodies (bk 2) by caroline kepnes

Me before you by jojo moyes

Don't you cry by mary kubica (anything by her is great)

I let you go by clare mackintosh

Another really good read...A mother's reckoning by sue klebold. So sad and intense, but a really poweful read. That is the mother of dylan klebold of columbine.

If you've never read them, The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, The Night Circus. Love most of Kate Mortons as well. Any by Sue Grafton as well.

That was the first one I read as well, and I thought the same thing. But then I read The Distant Hours, and didn't like that one as well. (I'll probably try another this summer to decide which of those was actually the exception.)

"They Made Me Work With A Monkey" by Toby Tyler

An uplifting memoir by America's greatest actor.

;)

On my favorites list:

Art of Hearing Heartbeats
The Girls
The Paris Architect
Language of Flowers
My Brilliant Friend
Rush Home Road
The Nightingale
The Devil in Jerusalem

For beach reads, Elin Hilderbrand is great. Kristin Hannah also has some great books ranging from historical fiction (The Nightingale was fantastic) to closer to chick-lit.

For light, fun reads, I like to read (or listen to) cozy mysteries. There are so many out there to read. If you're interested, here is a blog that may help you find something you might like in this genre.
