Good Steak, Seafood, and Sushi???

Ok, so this is our first trip to WDW and we were lucky enough to get in on the free dining plan (made for a longer trip, yeah!). I've made all of our ADR's already, just from reading my Passporter and some of the menus on allears. But, I do have a question... We're HUGE steak, seafood, and sushi fans, and I'm not sure (after reading some reviews) that we picked the best restaurants for this.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone can help us out with some of the better places out there for these! We've got ressies at Coral Reef and Cap'n Jacks for seafood. And I'm hoping to get some sushi and steak at Cali Grill. Any help out there????!!

How about Narcoose's for seafood? I'm not a big seafood eater so I can't really help out.

For seafood, we go to Fulton's & Flying Fish. For sushi, we go to California Grill & Tempura Kiku. For steak (when we used to eat it) we went to Narcoossees or Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Have you try the Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe(downstair) at DTD? The restaurant has an extensive sushi menu. There's also some kind of Augus Beef Tenderloin too. Isn't it good that you are on the free dining plan? Unbelievably good deal!!

Thank you for the tip! I just checked out they're menu last night, and I think we'll definitely be doing there! And yes, we were EXTREMELY lucky to get the free dining plan! Now we can eat at someplace other than McDonalds, and actually enjoy some TS!!!

We spent 10 days with free dining last year and it was great. Just make sure you have reservations TS instead of last minutes walk in as you most likely won't get any seating during free dining period.

Nothing at WDW is free, and the last time I checked the cost per person to dine free was something like $ 37.99 or in that area. I am not saying that you do not save money by choosing the dining plan, but to call it free is totally misleading.

Sushi is sure good at Wolfgang Puck's across from the Virgin Megastore at DTD. They also have some good Asian beers on tap.

For Steaks I think our current favorite is Yachtsman Steakhouse.

I believe people are referring to the DP as "free" becase they (WDW) are including it for no charge for people who visit during the next month or two. Granted by visiting WDW at this time of year you pay the Peak Season rates so probably make out just the same as if you went during a non-peak time and purchased the DDP option (as I am doing in October).

WDW is doing the "no-charge) dining plan to entice people to visit during the more expensive "peak times".

Disney promotion for free dining Aug 13- Sep 30 is actually FREE. All you are paying for is the MYW tickets plus room and then you get dining for FREE. So yes it is FREE and a great savings for many people.

I totally second California Grill for steak and sushi! The sushi was amazing!! Man, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

It's no secret on how much we paid. There's 4 of us(adults rate) staying as the value resort for 6 nts w/ 6 days Magic your way tix with no expiration date, park hopper and 5 days water-park and more options added-on.

Ticket price @AAA for 4-day Park Hopper = $258+pp(no add-on)
other discount tix vendor-6-days Park Hopper = $300+pp(no-add-on)
Disney Water Parks or Disney Quest - 1 day 1 park pass = $37+pp

What I have come up with is that for 4pp, it would have cost $1940.00 just for the tickets alone WOW!!!! I paid $1914.00 for everything including 6 nts hotel stay and food. The best part is that I would come home with extra tickets for my next WDW vacation.

We're actually going during the off-peak season as well. Disney's website includes the end of August through October as off-peak. For two people, staying 6-nights/7-days with park hopping & water + more options, and the "free" DDP, we only paid around $1050. Take out the $550 for the park admission alone, and that's only around $80/night for hotel and meals.

Are you sure the free DDP is through October? I don't see anything on the Disney website (only that it goes until the end of September). If someone has a link that would be fantastic!

AS long as your check in date is in Sept you can extend your free dining into october.

I believed the "free" DDP was sold out by late June.
