Good spots to view Illuminations?

But if I tell you the good spots, then everybody will go to that spot, and it won't be good anymore! :)

Just kidding, one of my favorite spots to watch it from is the bridge between the UK and French pavilions. The one problem with Illuminations however is wind. Check to see if there is a strong breeze when picking a spot to settle in, you don't want to be downwind of the pond because you'll end up seeing a lot of stuff hidden by smoke from the fireworks.

I don't think there is a bad place to view the fireworks when you are standing around the World Showcase.

We always try to watch Illuminations on the bridge between United Kingdom & France. There are plenty of good spots to view it all around the WS.

You'll want to be sure that the wind is at your back. If you have a nice balmy breeze blowing in your face, guess where all the smoke from the fireworks will go? :)

That said, I like watching from France or Germany.

It really depends on the crowd. I went a few weeks ago, we walked in 30 minutes before the show, got a table and still got food in time for Illuminations.

But I agree, Mexico is a great place to watch. It's also right at the entrance to WS, so you can zip out pretty quickly after the show.

Do buses go to the WS entrance/exit?

No- you can walk to the resorts in the area, but you can't get a bus to/from other resorts from that area. We had a ps, so we parked at Beach Club and walked over after dinner to see Illuminations last week. We watched on the bridge like few posters have mentioned above! :)

There is also a boat at the WS entrance that stops at the Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach Club and Swan/Dolphin. If MGM is still open it will also go there for a full loop.

We just made reservations at Big River Grille (at Boardwalk). We originally wanted 6 or 6:30. The person making the reservation asked us if we could hold out until 7 or 7:30...he said the view for Illuninations was great!

We sat at the bench right across the bridge going to mexico. I set my camera up on a little tripod on the ground and put one leg thru the fence, and i just sat on the ground and took pictures. I got some good shots that way and was out of the way of people standing behind me.

It is for the higher fireworks. But you will miss a lot of the other stuff. There is a lot going on on the water and there are some much lower fireworks that you can't see from the BW area.
