Looking for a good sportsbar near Disney that serves decent food. I know there's one in particular that has been mentioned several times on the show, but I can't remember the name. I thought it was in Celebration, but I could be wrong since I can't find a listing for one in Celebration.

Going is WDW during the first week of free dining in August and I've decided to not let our group of 8 eat one meal inside WDW. Staying in a Tree House Villa and well have a full kitchen. Currently going to eat at Texas De Brazil, Pei Wei (due to kevin's recommendation), the sportsbar I can't remember, and then Pizza and spaghetti in the villa.

Celebration Town Tavern

While this would not be listed as a Sports bar..the bar area is definitely sports oriented. (Several TVs all showing sports or sports related shows and lots of sports memorabilia) The main part of the building is the dining room and while it's still the sane food....we actually prefer to sit in the bar area. It has a "pub like" atmosphere, and for two "non-sportsy" kinda guys, this is saying something. Great food...great prices....very casual.

One of the places near Disney that you would most likely find John and I.

Orlando Ale House
12371 Winter Garden Vineland, Orlando, FL 32836

Dont let this address fool you. This place is just off Disney property and probably within two miles of the Tree House Villas.

The Ale House has much more of a sports bar atmosphere, especially as the night goes on. One side is devoted to booths and tables, but the majority of the restaurant is dedicated to the bar business. There are televisons everywhere and it seems that virtually every sporting event is being televised.

That being said....it's still someplace I think you would be comfortable taking kids (especially earlier in the evening). Be prepared...there is a large video game area.

The Ale Hose is a chain and there are several throughout Orlando. The one near Disney is our favorite. The menu is extensive with a huge variety, but I would shy away from the higher end entrees This place offers "good bar food". In my opinion...it's far less successful with things like steak and seafood entrees. This place is also extremely casual and the prices are very reasonable.

I think the best way I can describe this is that I would consider the Celebration Town Tavern to be a restaurant with a great bar area and the Orlando Ale House to be a bar with a restaurant serving good bar food. I dont think you would go wrong with either place.

I believe there is a Buffalo Wild Wings in the area too. Ive been there once, and it was decent. I prefer Ale House as its good food, and free wifi.

We went to CTT last trip based on John and Kevin's recommendation, and we are planning on trying Ale House this next trip! Glad to hear it gets the stamp of approval!! We really enjoyed CTT, it made for a great relaxing lunch for us one day! :)

I have eaten at the ESPN Club in both WDW (Boardwalk) and DLR (Downtown Disney) and had a good meal both times.

We were just at the Celebration Town Tavern a week or so ago to watch some NCAA games. Agree it is a restaurant with a good bar. The food was good and the drink prices reasonable. Having said that, I think the place has a bit of an upscale feel to it ... the people seemed to be just a bit higher class than your normal neighborhood sports bar.

Don't get me wrong, we were comfortable, but both my DH and I noted that it had a bit different clientel than what we are used to. (No we are not rednecks, just middle class!!)

We did want to get over to the Ale House but didn't quite make it this trip.

My husband and I went to the Orlando Ale House twice during our December trip based on the recommendation of the podcast team. We had a really good time. I agree with what Kevin said about the food. DH got a steak the first time and it wasn't a very good cut of meat. The next time we stuck with typical bar food and were much happier. Gotta love the drink prices! I say give it a try.
