sandals at disney cuz we will be going in june. I have Teva's which I heard were real comfy to wear all day there. I haven't worn them that much so i'm not sure. I also have crocs i just bought. I'm still breaking them in and it just seems so weird to me. It's hard to wear shoes that are so loose. one of my concerns is my feet sweating in the crocs or tennis shoes. I was concerned with tennis shoes cuz of getting them wet on the water rides. Help please.

I wore my Diesel runners the last time we went. I always end up with blisters and sore feet at Disney but not this time. I am not sure if it was the shoes or the tips I found here on the board. I will post those tips here to save you from looking. I would think twice about crocs if they are loose you wouldn't want to have them fall off on a ride and then have to go barefoot.

Wear socks with your tennis shoes to prevent blisters and help with the sweat but before you put your socks on spray your feet with deodrant. I used secret. I did not get one blister the whole trip and we were there for a week. This was a first for me.

Break your shoes in before you go.

If your shoes get wet take out the laces and pull the tongue out as far as you can. Stuff the shoes with newspaper and leave them sitting near the air conditioner overnight they should be dry by morning. Replace the newspaper as often as you can to help pull the moisture out of the shoes. This worked well for us. I had to do this a lot our last trip as we had the misfortune of being there when Wilma blew through and she brought many days of rain.

Never leave your shoes outside overnight to dry it is way too humid in Florida for this to work.

I did not try this one but you could. Spray your shoes with a waterproofer before you go and maybe they will not get that wet on the water rides.

I wore a combination of Clark's athletic sandals (I'm sure very similar to Tevas), Birkenstock slip on sandals, and Crocs for a weeklong trip last October. I only got one small blister during the week- I was wearing Crocs with socks, and it rained on us. The wet socks rubbing on my heel gave me a blister, not the Crocs!!

Clark's- great, very comfy. Only problem- they didn't do well in rain. The liner is suede, and when it got wet, it was not fun. Then, they didn't dry very fast.

Crocs- great!! I thought my feet would sweat and slip around, but they didn't. I liked them with or without socks- just didn't like when the socks got wet. Obviously, Crocs are great in the rain, since they don't require any drying time- just wipe off with a paper towel, and you're good to go!

Birkenstocks- usually, I love them and wear them all the time, but I discovered they didn't work for me when walking long distances. My feet got SORE after a full day on them.

The one thing I did that I learned on the DIS: put deoderant on my feet each morning. Usually I get several blisters, but aside from the one from the wet socks, none on this trip! I also used peppermint foot lotion each night before bed. The old tootsies held up pretty good for the week.

I used Body Glide...and for the first time in YEARS...and I do mean YEARS...I didn't get a blister! Unbelievable! I didn't get my feet wet, however... :teeth:

buy spray on deodernt. Spray it on your feet at the start of your day, and your feet will stay sweat free

My Teva River Runners are my favorite WDW shoe. I also use a Clark Thong sandal & a Dansko slide. I love my Crocs at home, but got a blister from the Nile's at WDW last April. It was my first & only WDW blister ever. Beach model with socks was fine tho.

I never wear running shoes or anything closed like that in the warmer monthes at WDW. If my feet get overheated, I'm done for. Unless it's really cold, I'm in sandals.

Definitely bring at least two different pair of walking shoes. We just returned on Saturday and I have to say, no matter what you wear your feet will start bothering you by the end of the day and it feels really good to change shoes! I brought my very broken in Tevas and wore them most days when it was warm. In the evenings I would change into my Sketchers...which I put Dr. Scholl's gel inserts into.

I personally wear the following pairs that I alternate between days. I never wear the same pair 2 days in a row. I love the following shoes and will most likely be buying another pair in a different color if I see them at DSW again

These look wonderful! I have nerve damage in one foot and am only supposed to wear good walking shoes, but I can't stand hot feet. I am definitely going to look into these for our August trip. I am soooo glad I clicked on this thread! :thumbsup2
