A little off topic but I always ask my disfriends before making a decision.

I am a Good Sam member and I keep getting this emergency roadside ad from them. Is anyone else here enrolled on that? Just wondered if you are what is your comments. Is it worth 80 bucks?

We used to be in it but never needed it. Starting in Jan. '08, we have season passes and are going to try to make at least 3 trips to the Fort so I'll probably do it again.

That's my opinion. I only would want it if I had several "big" trips lined up.

I'm thinking about the AAA too. Only because Disney has AAA discounts on certain things like FW Campsites lol. I was a AAA member until last year and I think I'll just renew that.

We have the AAA Plus RV :cool1:

We went that route because it was about the same price as the Good Sams but I like all the other things I get with AAA. :banana:

:tink:

Hi all;

Have any of you considered asking your local insurance agent if your company offers
something similar? I carry a road service rider for my cars and RV and it runs
less that $20 per year. I have state farm but I imagine other carriers offer it as
well.

The main difference I've seen between it and say AAA is no trip planing, discounts, ect.....and you have to pay yourself at the time service is
rendered ,then give the bill to your agent to be reimbursed.

i posted almost the same question on rv net .and the answers i got was that good sams seems to be better equipped to handle the rv'ers needs especially for fifth wheel and bigger mh. we ended up going with good sams.

What's the difference between this and AAA RV plus?:confused3
AAA Plus ( which I have ) does not have RV service everywhere. I just switched from Good Sam to RVRoadhelp because they will also tow my trailer ( Harley Hauler ) and Good Sam says I have to pay for an extra tow vehicle for that.

Good Sam's service did not help us when we had a flat tire in the FW area last October. It was a week after the tornado did a lot of damage in the area, and the recorded message we got was that all vendors were working to help in the tornado areas and it would be three or four days before we could get help. I understand that, but don't count on emergency help always being available when you need it. I'm a little steamed at there "always there when you need us" and "peace of mind" advertising, because it isn't always true, but I'm not canceling my service. We were in a jam, and needed help, and got it from a local tire service in Haines City at a reasonable cost. Can't really accept that they couldn't find anyone to get us back on the road.

We have AAA Plus RV. We upgraded to it from our regular AAA when we got the MH. I looked at Good Sam's but decided to stay with AAA. Our new RV insurance will also handle it.
