Good Rental Car Rate?

We're going to WDW for 5 days in April (comes to four days rental car). We really need a full-size car for our family of four and our luggage, a compact just won't cut it.

I've searched all the rental car co's I can think of, and just checked for prices on Hotwire. The best deal I can find right now is through Dollar-- $160 total, includes all taxes, etc. Some, like Hertz, are much more! Does this seem like a good deal? They always ask for codes, etc., when making a reservation. How does one find those codes? I went ahead and booked it--can always change if a better deal comes up!

I'm not sure but I think April is a tough time to rent, seems like lots of people are on vacation. I've had my ressie since Aug. and every time I check to see if it went down it keeps going up!

great rates, no line up, coupon available on their website, right in airport, spouse drives for free, bring car insurance document and you can decline some of the insurance normally charged, www.lmcarrental.net I think is the website.

I tried a combination of codes from mousesavers and rentalcodes.com to get a decent quote. I found that sometimes I had to clear the cache to check different combinations before I found a better one. We're staying a week the end of april and found an SUV with Alamo for $150 to give you an idea.

We were able to book the last week in March for 8 days for 21.00/day on priceline using the name your own price option. I am usually able to get full size cars or vans using priceline for less but Orlando is the most I have ever paid @ 21.00/day.

A 4-day rental is expensive b/c you're paying a per-day rate. Often weekly rates begin with rentals of 5 days or longer. That's why you're seeing such a high rate. Another reason is, as others have said, you're traveling during peak season. Try the coupons and codes on MouseSavers and if you have an Entertainment book, try those coupons as well. Good luck!

I wonder............could you book a five-day rate and return the vehicle after four days? Of course, still pay the full five days, if it works out to be less than 4 per day rates.

I tried that url but nothing seems to exist.

Like a pp said, I think April is busy enough that they don't have to offer great deals and since it is only 4 or 5 days you are paying a daily rate which is more than getting a weekly rate.

We are leaving this Thursday and actually got a minivan through Alamo for $200 for 9 days! I thought that was a great rate. With Alamo, you also get an extra 15% off if you prepay online. So, once I do that it will actually only be about $170.
