I want a deal - a GOOD DEAL!!!! Like the deals I've read on these boards!!!!!

I will be traveling to Disney Aug 8 - 15, 2004 (Ignore my countdown that trip was cancelled). I'm reading about all these good rates ($64 for value) and $99 for moderate resorts. What discounts are you using???? AAA, Entertainment books, teachers rates, what!!!!!

I've called and changed my reservations so much I think Disney is going to block my calls, but none of them are as good as what I'm reading on these boards. Even with the Pop during my vacation time would still run me $92 a night (including tax) with AAA.

Is that as good as it gets during Aug? I'm trying to book room only package so all the extras aren't neccessary (I plan to buy my hoppers locally and do 2 days at Universal Studios.) Should I wait until after the new year?

The only good DEAL I've been offered was a group rate. Those rates were wonderful, but trying to get 10 sets of adults to give up monies (for a deposit) right before Christmas is like trying to pull a tooth from a Elephant!!!!

Please help this Disney Desparate women out!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

I don't know about the $99 moderates, but I do know that for Sept 18 to Sept 25 we went through CRO using a AAA rate and got Pop Century Perfered View for $77.60 a night. I would love to get a moderate for $99 though.

The best I was able to come up with using my dates which is at a value period as well with a standard room at CBR is $106 w/o tax or $118.64 a night with tax, with 20% AAA rate discount.

The discount rates that Disney will hopefully offer for the summer will not be out until May or June. Last year I booked my trip for the end of September the beginning of June.
What most of us do is book our rooms now and then patiently wait for the "codes" to come out then we apply the discount to our existing reservation. Last year they also offered the Fairy Tale Package which was the stay for 7 nights but only pay for 4 deal. I am pretty sure that offer came out in May or June.
You just have to watch these boards, because when the offers come out it is posted here right away!

helenk,

What if I book right now and pay the bill before my trip in August (I'd really like to have my bill paid for by the 1st of April) Then after April some great package like the pay for 4 nights stay for 7 comes out. Can I still get my rate adjusted or monies refunded once I check in??

I honestly do not know the answer to that question as I have not paid my reservation off that quickly. Since I know that the codes or deals generally do not come out until May or June I have waited and then changed my existing reservation and then I start to send payments.

Well, my husband and I are both teachers and just in case you didn't know. We (in St. Louis) do not get paid during the summer time, so I need to have this bill paid before school ends.

I got a rate of $147.50 at the Dolphin using the ET card, this is for Aug. 04.

Djm99, You do not have the option to receive "lump sum" payment in June? In New York and our district just divides our salarys by the number of pay periods in a year, and we recieve a lump sum that is equalivent to what we would make over the summer. (Sorry - off topic, but I am curious. I thought all teachers had this option. )

Also, I visit Disney every year in August. Since we do not go back to school until after Labor Day in the North, I always go to Disney the last week of August. Going at this time saves a lot of money because it is Disney's value season. If you are not back to work, it is a great week to go. No crowds and better rates.:D

That's interesting, in our school district I know that teachers have a contract for 9 - months, but they spread it over 12 - months. So their is a pay check every month.

Yes we do have the option to get our pay spread out, but we don't really have control over it. The district automatically takes a certain amount out of our check. We would then get a certain amount during the summer. My DH and I choose to have our monies and save it ourselves. We just don't always save like we'd want to.:sunny:
