Good rate for Poly?

That's so awesome! :cool1: And, thanks for the answer back!
So, now, can anyone explain to me what Magical Vacations is? Are they affiliated with Disney at all? Do you just buy your room there or a package with tickets or dining plan if you want? What if you book a low rate for Poly and then FD comes along and you want to add that? I'm sort of confused, sounds like you wouldn't need a pin or code thing to get a great rate through disney like we usually try to do. :confused3

They are an "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner"...basically a travel agency that you can book Disney trips through. You book the room through them, and you can add on "discounted tickets", but you CAN NOT add the dining plan to Magical Vacation rates. They also only have these deals on certain dates, but you can request other dates as well and they can try to accomodate you.

But people can add the dining plan and buy a standard Disney package if they are not getting the deeply discounted room rates.

That's definitely correct. When we had our great Poly rate we couldn't add on the dining plan even if we paid for it. We felt the discount on the room was great enough it didn't matter. When free dining became available for our dates I had to think long and hard and finally decided to do a mod. This will be our last Mod trip unless we stick with POR since I have 3 kids. Anyway, you can book regular Disney trips with them, but the deeply discounted rooms limit you a bit. I did ask Lisa if we could link our seperately purchased tickets to our room card when we arrived and she said yes (a CM told me no, but he was doing a fair bit of "selling" so I think that is why).

Thanks very much for the link, I appreciate it! Now I have another question, lol! I actually went there and filled out the request form. I requested Poly. They had some new years deal with travel dates of Dec 23 - Jan 2. Well, I wasn't sure if you had to travel only in between those dates or if your trip just had to start on one of those dates. Our trip is Jan 2 to Jan 10. Does anyone know? Even if the rates are good, I don't know that we can stay at the Poly unless they are very close to the mod rates we usually do, and even then we use a code or pin type deal. I sort of cringe at spending so much, but the Poly does sound really awesome! If the rates were good, we could buy tickets with the room but not DDP or QSDP, right? Well, even if we can't go to the Poly this time, it's great to know this place is there with various great deals, so maybe another time if not now! Do they ever have those extra good deals on Mods such CBR(that's where we usually stay), or at OKW? Thanks for all the help guys, appreciate it! :goodvibes

My understanding is they can contact Disney to see if they can get a couple days outside of the block they are offering, however I don't know if they will be able to get all your days. When I booked our trip the dates of the deal through MV were outside our dates by 1 day so Lisa called Disney to see if we could add on that date and they allowed it. Actually here is a direct quote from an email she sent me...the original dates of the deal were 2 days AFTER our arrival...

"We have the ability to add on the extra nights you need (we sign a contract with Disney when we purchase our room blocks in advance, so whenever we have to make a change in travel date extension, we have to go through a series of steps in order to do that). We verified this morning that we can extend the discounted rate to you for the earlier arrival date."

So maybe you could split your stay and be at the Poly for a bit and a mod for the rest.

I know the October deal originally offered POFQ, but it sold out quickly. I had asked for a quote on that prior to booking anything and it was $122.63 a night. I never really checked the other deals as we weren't traveling then so I don't know if Mods were offered with them.

^^Wow, that was quick at this time of night, lol! Thanks very much! Hmmm, okay, well that's good info to know. I will definitely keep MV in my favorites to check out special deals coming up! Sounds like if you're lucky and with some good timing you could get some great deals! The Poly probably won't happen for me this time, but I'm glad to have another place to be on the lookout for a sweet deal on other trips in the future! :thumbsup2
Also have to decide is it better to get a great deal on a cool room or possibly be able to get the DDP or even FD if offered at the time of a trip. Well, thanks again! :)
