I tried to eat at 50's Primetime last year and we were turned away (no ps), so we had to eat somewhere else. We assumed all of the restaurants would be like that b/c it was spring break, so we ate at the closest place we could find, which was ABC commissary. I had a really great wrap w/hummus and veggies in it. Of course, there are cheesebrugers and fries if you want that too. My friend got a Cuban sandwich. I can't remember what was on it, but it was good!! Also, the turkey leg place is good, if you're in the mood to eat a HUGE piece of meat. I would not recommend the Toy Story Pizza Place. I hate ALL pizza at WDW.
Have a great time at MGM
If you mean counter service, I think Backlot Express beats the other counter service places at MGM...The cheeseburgers are pretty good and I just had the grilled turkey with roasted red peppers last month and I really enjoyed it...
I would recomend the ABC Commissary too. There does not seem to be as many quick service places at MGM. Stay away from Pizza Planet. We have been 2 times. We forgot after the first time that a frozen pizza is better than the pizza here. I suppose children would like the place. We didn't have any at the time we were there. The restaurant always seems to be dirty.
The new one - Studio Catering Co.....SO GOOD. We're all still talking about how good those wraps were and how much we want another one. We all got the kid's meal which was a grilled chicken wraps....they were excellent.
Backlot Express. They have lots of different things to try. I had a really good wrap, and dh had a bowl of chicken and rice with some sort of curry sauce. Very delish!
STAY AWAY from Rosie's All-American Cafe. I cannot stress that enough ...

I haven't been there yet, but from the menu, Studio Catering looks very interesting. Could someone describe exactly where this is? Also, am I correct, this is different from backlot express - correct???
Thanks.
We have never eaten at a counter service @ MGM. We usually have a PS for 50's and can get in & out in about an hour. I don't think that's too bad for sit-down and the food is good.
The cheeseburgers we had really were horrible. And I mean HORRIBLE. It was as if someone had taken the worst parts of the cow, mashed it all up, pounded it to a pulp, then molded it into a patty, freeze-dried it for months, and then microwaved it before plopping onto a bun before serving to us. Completely tasteless and the texture was unbelieveably revolting. Unfortunately, they are one of the few counter service places open during MGM EMH, so the line was horrendous as well -- we waited at least 20 minutes to place an order in the "Place Order Here" line, and then waited another 15 minutes in the "Pick Up Order Here" line It was a disappointing experience, to say the least.

I was pleasantly surprised by Starring Rolls Bakery. They were quick and DELICIOUS and the atmosphere at the tables outside was like a Georgetown bistro. I used to think of them only as offering a quick danish or sweet roll...not so. They have delicious deli sandwiches with fresh baked breads, chips and an assortment of beverages.
