We (husband, 3 1/2 year old, and 12 month old) are going to WDW in a few weeks. Staying at Pop Century. Husband has conference during the days. Taking my 3 1/2 year old to MK while parents watch baby. Need something to do (besides paying to go to another park) the other 2 days. I've been to WDW many times before and know about Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk. Any other recommendations? We'll have a car. Was wondering if any of the other resorts had playgrounds worth checking out.

TIA!!

Deborah

I know there is a McDonalds on Disney property that has a large indoor playspace. I think its right near Downtown Disney.

How about going over to AKL to visit with some of the animals. There are plently of public viewing spaces inside and outside - they'd probably really like the giraffe, zebras and flamingo pond. They have a playground there too (nothing special) but between the animals, playground and Mara for lunch you could easilly spend an afternoon.

We stayed at CBR, and my 3 1/2 y/o dd really enjoyed the playground on the beach there. (You can't play in the water, but there are also pools nearby.) I don't know if they let you into the resort by car if you aren't staying there, tho.

One time I was stuck in a resort while DH was at a conference and I rode the monorail around! I got off at the different resorts and just walked around! The kids would enjoy the monorail ride, too! Just take the Pop Century bus to Magic Kingdom and then hop the monorail and ride around!

We've gone over to Celebration with my little ones, which was fun. Most of the stores aren't really that kid friendly, although there is one that sells kids stuff. But there are ice cream shops, it's nice to walk around, and on the weekends they have a farmer's market in their downtown area. They even have a movie theater that shows one or two movies. And it's a pretty area to just take a walk with the little ponds, etc. And there might be a playground somewhere in there...I'm sure the families there use them, too!

Actually, that's something I will be wanting to research before we go in April. I've wondered it in the past! We've fished there, too, if that's something you're into. But we only did that because my dad had his temporary FL fishing liscense to fish in the area anyway and also had a pole for that purpose!

Check out Fort Wilderness. They have a petting zoo and a playground though nothing special. The pool at POP is fun and they have a neat fountion for child's water play. There is an arcade and lots of walking paths. Check however, the tickets you will have, sometimes it really is not that much more to add days on. We went from 6 to 7 days for just a few $'s more.

Some of the other ideas are great too. We love to resort hop, and DTD is always a great place to visit.
