Good places to meet people?

OK, I'm going on my first solo trip June 2-5 and even though I'm excited, I'm actually pretty terrified! But I don't want to sit in my room all evening because I don't have anyone to go out with.

So...where's a good bar that's not too loud, but busy enough that I could meet some people? I'm staying at SSR, but the bar there is not what I want. It's mostly just people waiting for dinner tables. Any good hanging out with a drink places?

Maybe DTD since you're so close? I've never gone there to hang out and drink (except PI w/ my DBF) but House of Blues comes to mind? I like going to Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk. It's the only bar I've felt comfortable going to solo!!

Have a great time!!! :)

I second Jellyrolls. The place is awesome and there is so much audience interaction there that everyone gets to know everyone. You end up all talking and laughing together. . .

Rolgans at DTD is a great place to sit and have a drink in a fairly quite place with plenty of people to talk to. They have an outside bar on the right side of the enterance if it's a nice night. Otherwise if you can get a seat near the end it's fine.
Depending on what teams are playing the ESPN Club can be fun. If there's a big game on like the Sox and Yankees the place is crazy otherwise it's a good place to sit and stick up a conversation.

My upcoming May visit will be my first time at AC or JRs...so I cant comment on those although I am told ACs is great solo....
I have however did DW solo and my favorite bars are at Downtown Disney...House of Blues is a good solo bar . The bartenders at Rainforest Cafe are great with solos and you can sit at the outdoor bar at Bongos. If you are over in AK the Yak and Yetis bar, while small is a good solo bar as well. Anyplace that you go within the actual parks you are going to feel comfortable because the CMs go out of their way to show a solo vacationer a fun time. I hadnt planned my March vacation solo it just turned out that way and I was pretty apprehensive about it but I LOVED it and would not hesitate to go solo again... Have a fun time and relax:):) Enjoy!!!!!:goodvibes

I think Adventurers Club is the best bar for meeting new people--just lends itself to striking up a conversation with someone. Raglan Road is also a good choice, tho it can get a bit noisy when the live music starts. Scat Cats at POFQ might be worth a visit, as well--a very relaxing atmosphere.

I've gone to Jelly Rolls solo, but definitely prefer going with a group. Once it starts getting crowded, I just find it too loud to make conversation.

since you are staying at SSR - would go with DTD. it is within walking distance.... which may be helpfully.
