Good place to take teens after park closes?

Does anyone know of somewhere on Disney property that we can take a group of teens after the parks close? Our high school marching band will be traveling to Disney next year and we are looking for some place special that the seniors (and their chaperones) can go for a few hours after the parks close. The other band members would go back to the hotel. In the past, the seniors went over to the boardwalk, but I am told that there wasn't anything for them to do last year but walk around. They could not get into any of the restaurants such as the ESPN Club because they were not 21 and nothing was set up outside because of the weather. Any suggestions would be apapreciated!

The two places that come to mind are DisneyQuest (DTD), and mini-golf (Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens).
Hope this helps.

I would take them to Disneyquest, and there are plenty of shops and things at Downtown Disney to keep them occupied.

I also think DQ and DTD-my teens could spend days in that place!

Yep, Downtown Disney is perfect. There is DisneyQuest which I believe is opened until 12, which is a 5 Story Virtual Arcade.

There are many places to shop, a movie theater, and lots of restaurants. Let them loose at Downtown.:earsboy:

Thanks for all of your suggestions!
We also thought about Downtown Disney, but were concerned with kids trying to get to Pleasure Island. Does anyone know the age limit to get on to Pleasure Island? Some of our seniors will be 18.
Disney Quest is a building with an entrance fee, is it not? That might be an option. Our school district is very strict and they would be very upset if they found out that any of our kids got to an adult area during a school sponsored trip! They might even take the trip away for the next time.

Some of your seniors might be able to get in-you have to be 18 + or accompanied by an adult. For a couple of clubs you have to be 21 to get in. There is also an admission required after 7:00pm. The last time I was there they were only accepting government issued ID at the gate.

Another vote here for DisneyQuest and Downtown Disney. Even though some of your students could get into Pleasure Island , they would have to have proper ID to get into the over 21 clubs. I'm not exactly sure about your concern re the adult area: We are talking about Disney here, right?

While I agree that DQ would be a great place, I can also understand your concerns about PI. Who knows what teens will do when they are hundreds of miles away from home!!!

So I will say that the mini-golf at Summer-Winterland is really a lot of fun. And there is no where else to wander off to. I believe it was open late, but I can't remember exactly how late. But I do know that they have the same hours year round - in other words, they are open late even at less busy times.

There are two courses and it could keep them busy for a very long time. They are both very creative and lots of fun.

I would recommend this and that way you are in less danger of having to answer for something someone else thought was a good idea (I mean 18 year old going into PI.)

There is an admission fee (at least $20) for Pleasure Island at night which might deter some of them from just wandering in. We went there when my kids were teens and I didn't find anything objectionable - most of the clubs are 21+ and there are 1 or 2 that will allow 18 but they will still not be allowed alchohol.

I would agree with Disney Quest. Our senior trip to Disney really did not give us much time outside the parks, but we really enjoyed the Marketplace and downtown disney when we were there. We were actually given the freedom of going anywhere we wanted on Disney property for about 4 hours so some chose to hang out at the pool, others went shopping. Its not really like our chaperones could have went with all of us (40 girls, 3 teachers).

If it is towards the end of the year or trip, how about a nice farewell type dinner at the Polynesian or Boma or even Hoop-Dee-Do-Revue? Something nice for the kids to enjoy eating at and some entertainment that is built in. This could let the kids dress up and help set the seniors apart from the rest of the band with the priviledge
