Good or bad thing?

That's the FIRST thing I thought of was the characters already at Islands of Adventure at Universal. I mean, after the licensing ends, do those rides get shut down? Maybe Disney should buy Harry Potter and then just buy the whole park. :rotfl:

I know when Six Flags sold off some of their parks, like Darien Lake in Upstate NY, the parks lost their licensing agreements, they had to rebrand their rides, but the rides still could be used. Now granted, this is a little difference scenario, but I would think worst case scenario is the rides would need to be rebranded, under best case, they may have a contract in place that gives them ROFR (right of first refussal) to continue the licensing agreement at some percentage escalator to the rate (usually listed as min/max caps) regardless of who actually owns the rights.

In the end Disney and Universal executives most definately know each of their rights, and I'm sure there will be some legal struggling to make each other "whole".

Yuck.
:sad2:
Not digging it ... At all!

Just ran over to the rumor board where everyone is freaking about about Spidy hanging with the mouse over at the MK!

Not gonig to happen folks!

If anything, the Marvel characters will hang at the Studios and DCA till a new land or park can be built for them.

The universal thing is going to be fun to watch thats for sure! I can see Disney hiring a U-haul truck now and driving it down I-4! That would be some great publicity, and hysterical too! :thumbsup2

That's what I think. They might incorporate them into DCA or DHS which is totally fine. They're too smart to mess with adding them in the wrong type of park. I'm with you though about Universal. It's going to be interesting to see how this pans out after a few years. After licensing has expired, etc. Some sites were saying "Here comes WDW's 5th park!". But I dont' see that happening either.

A 5th Park?

And here I was wondering if we'd be seeing the recently cancelled "Spiderman the Musical" as a new show on the DCL. :rolleyes1

I will admit that my knee-jerk reaction was OH HELL NO. I don't want Doctor Strange in Fantasyland, and I don't want Doctor Doom hanging out that Germany Pavillion in Epcot, or Storm in Animal Kingdom's Africa.

I will also admit that I am a DC fan and not a Marvel fan so I am baised when I say that I was upset that Marvel would taint my hallowed Disney.

But then I checked myself a bit (only a small bit because DC is better) and thought to myself that Marvel would bring in the boy market that Disney seems to have forgotten (as the Pirate brand seems to be waning) and Marvel could work at DHS or in a 5th Gate (if ever).

But in truth what really upset me is that it wasn't DC and I am just jealous that Marvel merch will be everywhere but Warner Bros isn't doing anything with the DC property and that saddens me.

I'm loving reading all of the rumors flying around!

"Disney is gonna kick the Marvel characters out of Universal and build a 5th gate in three years!"

Ya, OK...sure!

You are such a downer. Everyone knows that Rumors are really the truth :-)
And the Monorail will be run to this 5th gate too.

Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Robin are all DC characters and owned by Warner Brothers.

Ace and Gary are owned by NBC/Universal

Marvel does have some Gay Superheroes, though.

Northstar for instance:

Rawhide Kid is another:
