I would wait. I think you'll see better. I'm still waiting for better fares for my October trip.

LAALL4U2,

Fellow Buckeye;) , if these are non-stop flights. I would book them if the times and days are good for you. The cheaper seats on flights will be harder to find now with AA and US AIR and maybe others cutting back on the number of flights. We are flying in Feb(Presidents week) for $220 (non-stop) and I booked them 4 months ago.;)

Keep your eye on Cincinnati and Indy. You might find a cheaper direct flight.

I'm also from Dayton area and typically fly on Delta.

I find that I usually get better Delta prices out of Columbus; in addition Southwest and America West fly nonstops out of Columbus.

Cincinnati is always more expensive though you can get a nonstop on Delta there.

I was able to get $185 for October 31 out of Dayton. I suggest waiting for a better fare. Wait until about four months out and then grab the next good fare you see. Of course if a great deal comes along at any time you should grab it.

One nice thing about Delta is you can check online how full the plane is by looking at the seating chart. If the flight you want starts to fill up, it may be time to buy. If only a few seats have been sold, there's no reason to panic.

If you want the best fare, check fares at least weekly, or sign up for a "fare watcher" email at someplace like travelocity.

I had been watching fares out of Cincinnati daily for about 3 months. Just didn't see anything good. In fact prices were ging up over $300 per person for a non-stop flight. About 2 weeks ago they dropped to $205. That's a great rate out of Cincy on Delta. I bought them and the price went back up to $295 within days. They may have come down again but not for the times we wanted. So it really does pay to check often. Good luck!
