good off-site restaurants that dont need a reservation

I'm kind of surprised not to see any recommendations for Tony Roma's, it is directly across the street and decent food and good value. We eat there *at least* once each trip.

That Tony Roma's gets very mixed reviews here, which is probably why it hasn't been recommended until now. I'm glad to hear that you've had consistently good experiences there.

I forgot to warn the OP (and anyone else following along) to avoid Captain Kidd's AT ALL COSTS. The low price is NOT worth the health risk -- and we're talking flies on the food, unsupervised food, food at unsafe temperatures, people reporting illnesses that they know came from there, etc.

We do 2 places every trip for sure!!!
1.) Pizza Press is the best value for delicious food anywhere around DL. Our kids say it’s the best pizza in the world.
1.) Joes Crab shack. Real seafood close to the park although we drive and do a Target run at the same time. We try to go on kids eat free.

How is that place still open? Isn't the rent in that prime location super high? I don't get how that place stays in business.

Farrels Ice Cream Parlor is a must do for us. Brings back memories of many years ago. Fun place, great food but save room for dessert, fun entertainment, and most importantly fantastic ice cream! It's about 8 miles away in Brea.

That low price for seafood is what kept me away from Captain Kidd's.

All I could think about was the the place in the TV show Cheers, the Hungry Heifer, that Norm would talk about going to. Norm finally convinced them to all go and they said that the food wasn't that great. Norm said something like "what did you expect from grade D 'beff?' You didn't hear me complain about the 'lubester' did ya?"
