Good News for the trip "burst" by appendicitis!

For those of you who haven't read my previous thread, our Thanksgiving trip to WDW was put on hold when our DD's appendix ruptured earlier this week. After a week of illness and then 2 ER visits (one for DD age 2 and one for SD age 3mo) and a week long hospital stay for DD, we are home from the hospital AND rescheduled for our Disney vacation!

We are going President's Day Week with my MIL, FIL, and SIL. My MIL and SIL were down this weekend to help out with the kids and hospital stuff, and we were all so excited to have the trip rescheduled!!!

I just wanted to give those who had read my original posts the good news - since this week has just felt like nothing but bad!

DD will have to have surgery sometime after Christmas, but other than that things are definately looking better!

I am soooo happy for you!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that it worked out for you to reschedule and that you picked up some more vacationers as well!

I am sorry to hear of you bad luck but glad to hear your child is doing better and you are going later in the year.
In the last 3 months DS 15 broke his leg (femur) to the tune of $35,000.00 right now! Thank goodness for insurance but still! DH backed into a skidder ($500.00 deductable) and DS 13 broke 2 toes (no bill as of yet)

I need to cancel our trip but just can not get myself to make the call.

Holy MOly...you don't need to worry about cancelling your trip so much as you need to get some bubble wrap to put around your family. That's a lot of bad things all in a short time!

I'm so glad everything worked out, when I was 6yo, my appendix ruptured, they told my mom it was something to do with my ovaries and wanted to take them out , my mom of course was going to get a second opinion, and that night I was rushed to the hospital, they took out the ruptured appendix(a different hospital) and 18 days later, I was out of the hospital(it was almost 30 years ago). My mom was so glad I was OK, as it is very serious. I hope you enjoy your WDW trip!

Glad your DD is ok. My friend had to rush her 5 year old son to the hospital while htey were in Disney last year! Poor kid had surgery at Disney. They went back this year and everyone came home with all their parts.
