Having trouble finding the answer to these questions. Can anyone explain the difference between a Good Neighbor Hotel and a Gateway Hotel? Are there different benefits? Also - I thought that it had been changed such that some of those hotels allowed 60-day fastpass booking but now it looks like they are all 30-day. Did I miss that it had been changed again?

Thanks!!

Are you asking about DisneyLAND hotels or Disney WORLD hotels
If it is Disneyland there is a Disneyland forum here on the DIS

Go to the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies forum here on the Dis and look at the third post under the FP+ sticky at the top. It lists all the resorts that have a 60 day booking window. There are some of the Disney Springs hotels listed there (I believe that these are 'good neighbour' resorts).

I'm not sure but I think that 'Gateway' resorts are those close to the 'gate' to Walt Disney World property. Some off site resorts have 'gateway' in their name - I believe to indicate proximity to WDW.

Someone else will know for certain and straighten me out if I'm wrong, I expect. :-)

Good Neighbor hotels, if I remember correctly, are going to be the hotels on Hotel Blvd which are walking distance to DS. You'll find a lot of offsite hotels have Gateway in their name - these are hotels in the general Disney area but can be as far away as 5 miles. Mostly, you'll see these on the 192 ( Irlo Bronson Parkway ).

The 60 day FPs are the hotels on Hotel Blvd ( B Hotel, Doubletree, Hyatt Regency, etc ) .

Respectfully, that's incorrect. See below.

The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is not located on Hotel Plaza Blvd.

Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel
In order to be a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel, the property must meet the following:
  • Be AAA-Approved.
  • Meet Disney Standards for Quality and Service.
  • Have a Guest Services Desk for Disney Planning.
  • Sell Disney Tickets On-Site.
  • Provide Transportation to Disney Theme Parks (may involve a fee).
None of the Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels receive 60-day Fast Pass booking. I do not believe they ever did.

Walt Disney World Gateway Hotels
I am less familiar with this program. As I understand it, the Gateway designation was created in order for the Walt Disney Travel Company to sell these properties as part of a package. A Gateway hotel can also be a Good Neighbor hotel, but it's not a requirement. (Example: The Villas of Grand Cypress is a Gateway but not a Good Neighbor.)

Again, I'm not expert, but I do not believe that any of the Gateway Hotels gets 60-day Fast Pass bookings.

Disney Springs Hotels and Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin
If looking for non-Disney hotels that do get 60-day Fast Pass bookings, you'll need to book one of the following:
  • B Resort and Spa
  • Best Western Lake Buena Vista
  • DoubleTree Suites
  • Hilton Buena Vista Palace
  • Hilton Lake Buena Vista
  • Holiday Inn Orlando-Disney Springs
  • Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
  • Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista
  • Walt Disney World Dolphin
  • Walt Disney World Swan
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels have had 60-day Fast Pass bookings for years. That isn't likely to change. The Disney Springs Hotels added that benefit in 2018. It was extended through the end of 2019. Whether it will be renewed for 2020 and beyond is up in the air.
