I am travelling to DL in August with my sister - she will only stay at hotels, with interior rooms, not motels.

I can't really tell from the Disneyland website which of the Good Neighbor properties fall into that category.

Any suggestions?

I would probably look at the superior or suite level properties. Most of the moderate or lower will be motels. The biggest drawback of the higher end hotels, is the location. Most of them are not walking distance. Most (maybe all?) of them will be on the ART line, and a few will have their own shuttles.

It's not a Good Neighbor hotel, but you might want to consider the Howard Johnson Hotel. It's within walking distance (or you can use ART) and has all interior corridors. You can find out more about it from MouseSavers at http://www.mousesavers.com/hojo.html

Edit: The HoJo IS a Good Neighbor hotel. I looked at the wrong page.

I can also vouch for the HoJo Anaheim - and their rooms are spacious, too. Best customer service I've gotten in a standard hotel chain of that class in a long time . . .

For generally close hotels, there's also the Sheraton Park (used to be the Coast Anaheim), as well as a Hilton and a Marriott near the convention center. All are long walks, but certainly do-able.

There's also the Sheraton Anaheim, which has a shuttle and is near the parking structure (which you can walk to and then use the parking tram, too).

Thanks for the tips. I have heard lots of good things about the HoJo, and even been sent a couple of discount codes.

We will have a car, but I'd prefer to be within walking distance of the parks myself.

It's tough trying to plan this trip to accommodate both our budgets and our touring styles.

She is a casual, relaxed traveler who likes to stay in nice hotels and can afford it, and I am a lean, mean, theme-park commando who just needs a roof over her head for the few hours that I am not in the parks!

We're staying at the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel and they have their own shuttle that runs every 30 mins...I don't think it is reallky walking distance but we will be there on Thurs and then I'll let you know. We were able to book a room with 2 queen beds fro $960.00 at getawaytoday.com and that included parking and taxes. So for an 8 night stay, I thought that was pretty good. That's about all the knowledge I can share!

Last year we stayed at the Hilton Suites, we booked through getawaytoday.com. It was really nice, all suites, very reasonably priced and came with a hot breakfast buffet every morning. Not within walking distance but ART stopped there and it worked out for us.

You might also check out Embassy Suites South. It is about a mile away and you could walk it if you really wanted too. Can't go wrong with Embassy Suites and it also seems reasonably priced.

The Fairfield Inn, which is across Harbor from Disneyland (close to the HoJo) has interior corridors. So does the Portofino Inn and Suites - we stayed there last year for the DL Half Marathon and the room was quite nice. It's on the corner of Harbor and Katella, though, so it's a much longer walk to the park than the Fairfield. It had a shuttle to DL, but I don't think it was free. Both the Fairfield and Portofino are Good Neighbor Hotels.

Most will recommend HoJos, but to me it has a Motel feel even with the interior corridors. I prefer the Hilton or Marriot. Just my personal preference and can be found cheap on priceline if you bid for it.

I can definitely recommend the ES South. We never walked to DL, but there is an ART stop right outside the front door.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I am almost positive the Fairfield Inn that is next to the Hojo on Harbor does not have interior corridors. It is a higher rise type building, but the corridors are open. I have heard lots of reports that on the higher up floors the wind whistles under the door due to being up high and having an exterior corridor. I remember staying next door at the Camelot thinking I would not like to be on one of those higher up floors if I had a toddler due to those exterior corridors. Can anyone else verfify this or am I remembering wrong?

Okay, here is a photo of the pool area, and it looks like the corridors are exterior although its a bit hard to see:

You're absolutely correct! The Fairfield does have exterior corridors, but I would recommend the hotel, the proximity is great, great restaurants nearby and it was clean, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Hey guys! You all seem really familar with Anaheim. I'm guessing that ART is the regional transit. Is this a bus system? I'm not very familar with public transit, I've ridden the metro in DC and the streetcars in New Orleans but never a city bus. Can someone tell me what it is like?

While I agree that its a good property, the OP specifically wants something with indoor corridors.

ART stands for Aneheim resort transit. Its a transporation system that just services the resort area, its not their regional system. You can find out more about it at www.rideart.org They are cute little red buses. They are scheduled every 20 minutes, but tend to run a bit off schedule, so its closer to every 1/2 hour.

Other GN hotels with interior corridors are: Sheraton Anaheim, Sheraton Park, Clarion (moderate), Staybridge Suites, Residence Inn Resort Area, Marriott Suites, Marriott, Hilton, Homewood Suites, Embassy Suites South, Embassy Suites North (6 miles away), Doubletree Guest Suites, La Quinta Inn, Hyatt Regency, Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn & Suites, Radisson Hotel, and I think the Hilton Garden Inn (not sure, though).
