We are considering a June 2013 Disneyland vacation (I know, way early), and want to find out about good neighbor hotel 1 bedroom suites (i.e. contains a door you can close to allow a young child to sleep while the rest of the party can keep the lights on, talk, watch TV, etc.).

Do you have a favorite? Which is on the cheaper side but still good? Which one have you gone back to?

I dont know an answer to your question.. but the sooner you start planning the better! SOO much fun to plan :)

We like the penthouse suite R.I. Maingate. When traveling with 4 kids it was ideal for us. Full kitchen, great hot breakfast, free grocery shopping,
less than 15 minute walk to the park.

Homewood Suites 1 BR has 2 Q beds and separate living room with kitchen and couch(pullout bed). Serves hot breakfast and light dinner mon-thurs. Dedicated shuttle or you can use the ART at the hotel next door.

Thanks Jack. What do you mean by free grocery shopping? Is there a nearby Ralph's or something?

Here's a map I found of the area.

They have a little sheet that you fill out the night before(any night) and then the next day they go shopping for the items you have listed and but them in the fidge or on the counter for non-fridge items. We have never gone out for groceries, last year we had Vons deliver.
There is an A.R.T. stop in front on Clementine for those who wish not to walk.

Thanks. I assume we'll have a car, so late night runs to a grocery store while the wife stays with the kids won't be a problem. But that would be huge if we were rental-car-less.

For a budget we like the Comfort Inn Maingate south of Disneyland on Harbor. It's a decent 2 star motel, nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. The rooms are large. We got a King kids suite. The main room has a king bed and theres a smaller kids room with 2 bunk beds, TV etc. Some of the suites have 2 bathrooms. Breakfast is free which includes toast, waffles, fruit, cereal etc. No restaurant but they have a small dining room to grab what you want each morning. The best prices can be had by calling and not on their website. Just ask for what deals they have.
