My sister-in-law just got in the mail a post card that gives discounts if you stay at an off-site hotel. You will call Disney phone give them the code BYG and you can stay at an off-site hotel, plus 6 day ticket (not park hopper), bus transportation to the parks and a 15 gift certificate to Planet Holywood for as low as 52.00 a day for each adult in your party. It's good for 2 adults and 3 children. I called and spoke to CM Nathanial, he told me it was for off-site hotels. They have a list of participating hotels. I was curious cause I thought maybe we can use it for the Swann or Dolphin (They are not included in the deal). Then I asked are there going to be any discounts in June (thats when Im going) or July. He told me no that they pretty much sell out for the summer and they DO NOT give discounts for those months. As anyone else seen this? I also asked about codes attached to our phone or name he said that this will only happen if we get something in the mail and call up with the code on the flyer. They will no longer attach discount codes to phone numbers.

I know someone else who got the same thing. I believe she was offered Caribe Royal and the Embassy Suites. She already had a reservation at POR and was shocked that they were trying to get her to move offsite.

What I don't understand is why is Disney doing this and not giving discounts to the people who are staying on-site. Why would they want her to move from POR? Im wondering if they get a kick back if they refer people to the off-site hotels. I dont understand why Disneyis booking for off-site hotels?

Do you have any idea when the dates of travel had to be to use the BYG code? Also was there a minimum nights stay?

Its a minimum 5 nights/6 day stay. It from 6/01/08 to 8/30/08. I think they are trying to jam more people in the parks during peak.

For instance, could you book only two nights but still get the 6 day ticket? Hey, I'd pay $52 per adult(2) and child (2) per night for two nights and still come out cheaper just on the tickets that would be $416 plus tax I would assume. That would save me about $500 on tickets and give us and extra day in the parks.

Please share any other info you have on dates it can be booked, etc. and if you can answer my question above. Or please provide the phone number to call and I'll ask.

The number to call is the same as you call to book onsite. It's an offer from WDTC. Call 1-407-939-7777.

The minimum might not be 5 nights. The card says you can call and ask about other lengths of stay.

I talked to a CM yesterday that had no clue about this offer/postcard.

The offer on my card is from 6/1/08 - 8/15/08.

Called WDTC today to inquire about this offer. It is a valid deal. CM was very nice, helpful and informative. You can book it for anything from a 1 night stay through a 15 night stay. He said it includes a Planet Hollywood $15 food certificate and a Planet Hollywood $15 merchandise certificate. The tickets are your base MYW tickets.

We are looking for a place to stay 2 nights prior to our check in at time share so I asked him to price it for me. 2 nights for 2 adults & 2 kids with 6 day tickets came to $1,013.96. The hotel would have been the Comfort Inn Suites (there are several possibilities). He asked me how many days for the tickets so I am assuming you can change that.

I decided not to book it as I found cheaper rates with our military rate and buying tickets etc., it was about $201 difference.

The code is BYG though so you can call and check. We are going in June BTW.

I don't think the minimum nights is 5. That may be the promotional example they used. There will be a minimum and maximum, just like any package.
GNH are a good deal if they work for you. The on-site resorts are booked and booking fast. :thumbsup2
