Looking at going this summer, but need a room to accomodate 5 people. Dh, ME, DD 19, DD16, DS 6.

We want a good neighbor hotel that is close to DL, that wont break the bank either. Perhaps one that has a pool, and continental breakfast.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest you stay across from the parks on Harbor.

Most hotels offer larger rooms for families but not all have breakfasts.

I'd suggest looking at Park Vue Inn
Candy Cane Inn
Ramada Maingate.

They cover a range of prices are all close and all have breakfast.

Hojos' kids suites can take 5 and the Desert Inn and Suites have rooms that accommodate up to 8 people. Not sure if both are good neighbor hotels though. Hojos is an 8 to 10 min walk and Desert Inn is just across from the cross walk into DL.

Best western park place inn was great! Our room had 2 beds anda nice pullout. Spacious.

I have a family of 5, we have stayed at Hojos and Best Western Park Place Inn. Both were for different reasons. The first trip was Hojos because of reviews and cost, this was a May trip. The second was BWPPI because of location, we wanted to stay closer for a mid day nap and walking to HOJOs was a little farther than I wanted to trek on my second trip to the park when I ended up carrying my youngest on the first trip. We stayed at BWPPI in October. Both were fine and would stay there again, cost wasn't too big an issue as both times we were getting deals for going "off-season". The HOJO pool area looks like a bit more fun since we were there, and we didn't really use the pool at BWPPI.

Now on to this summer....We are doing a So-Cal drive from Oregon and hitting places on the way down. We are planning on touring DL for 3 days, which means 4 nights at a DL area hotel. With the prices much pricier in mid-summer we have decided to stay at Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites. I booked a few nights recently and found it to be about $150 cheaper than anything else I could find within my walking radius. They don't have breakfast which isn't too fun, but with our car from driving we can figure out other options for breakfast which are cheaper.

Finally, I think you can call most of the hotels and they will let you have a 5th in most rooms. For some reason the online booking gives you errors often and says, "two rooms needed".

Our 5 stayed at the Tropicana. 2 queen beds and we made a pallet on the floor with all the bedding for the fifth :) But we were 2 adults and 12, 11 and 10 year old kiddos :)

We like the Embassy Suites on Harbor. 2 queen beds plus a sofa bed in the living room. Full hot breakfast is a nice start to the day too!

With 5 people I'd recommend a 1 bedroom at a place like Marriott Suites or even closer is the Residence Inn Maingate. Their breakfast is lovely and the extra space makes it a lot less squishy.

Our family of 5 (3 teens, 2 adults) stayed in a loft suite at the Residence Inn Maingate. PLENTY of space, full kitchen, two bathrooms, included breakfast. Well worth a look.
