Good morning from the Yacht Club - live trip report

Love those ponchos :goodvibes

At least you looked nice and dry when you got to Si-Fi. The sky looked so blue in your picture as well.

Day 6 Animal Kingdom and as always a short day for us we took car. Then wished we hadn't as forgotten how frustrating trams are. Weather really cloudy so not too hot but very humid. First stop Expedition Everest

As queue was only 20 mins we did once regular then used fast passes to go again. Then headed off for next FP Festival of Lion King

As good as I ever remembered and made even better by two guys sat next to me who just loved it! They really got into the hand jiving and clapping. Made my day. Stopped off for quick pic with Donald

Quick stop at Pizzafari for some lunch then across to Dinoland for Primeval Whirl and Nemo the musical (cried a little sooooo sweet)
Decided to watch parade after Tough to be a bug but started to thunder so decided to head out to Prime Outlets to check out shops.
Dinner was House of Blues, we all opted for steak (very good) which we realised was bit stupid as we have ADR for Yachtsman tonight :sad2: DH had Banana bread pudding which was delicious. DS and I had ice cream. Then quick stroll around Downtown before bed.
Today is another chill out day. As I write this here is my view

Bliss!

Very jealous as you're sitting in MY spot !!!!!!!

Sounds like you're continuing to have a wonderful time ..... hope you got some fab bargains at the Premium Outlets

Day 7 and our holiday is halfway through :( bet the second half flies by. Just a quickie for yesterday as not much doing. Spent morning in SAB floating round and round on an inner tube. Also tried hot tub which was very nice although DS said water was too warm. Daily storm arrived so headed to room to change with plan to walk to Epcot for lunch. Storm turned into absolute monsoon so grabbed quick sandwich from Beach Club Marketplace then had quick stroll into Epcot to buy Mickey & Minnie wedding painting for DD then back to Yacht Club for dinner at Yachtsmans. Sorry no pics as left my phone in room. Food was very good although glad we were on DDP for that one as tip and two glasses of wine was over $70. Also said quick hello to Claire (Claire bear) and Tom who were also dining there too. Then quick stroll round boardwalk before bed.

Today back to Epcot. :)

Glad you're enjoying stormalong bay. Looking forward to trying it next month! Where are you leaving your stuff whilst you swim? Just on chairs? It's always a worry for me when we swim in hotels...

Hello this is Clare, the crazy lady who asked if you are the fellow Diser on the boat from the YC to the Boardwalk
Enjoy the rest of your holiday. We leave tomorrow after 2 fantastic weeks so I'll be catching up with your daily updates from Derby shortly :sad1:

Really should stop reading these great trip reports! Trying to have a year off of going to disney! But the more I read the more I need to go back!

Hi Clare was lovely to meet you. Sorry we didn't have chance to chat for longer. My DH is amazed how we Disers all recognise one another. enjoy your last day and Have a safe journey home :)

Hi, yes we just leave stuff on chairs, although there's nothing of any real value. As we have magic bands we don't need to carry room keys etc, its all in the band and is waterproof so we just swim in them :)

Day 8 and off to Epcot after a lie in. Did our usual breakfast in Sunshine Seasons followed by Soarin, Nemo, Test Track and Mission Space then finished up with Ellen before heading to Japan for ADR at Teppan Edo. Wasn't sure about this when I booked it, but thought would go for it as we are on Dining Plan and am so glad we did. Our chef was Ken and he was incredible, very entertaining.

I had steak and chicken, DS had chicken and prawns and DH had steak and prawns followed by ice cream. Food was absolutely delicious, probably now one of my favourite ADRs ever.

Decided to get boat from Epcot to Hollywood Studios as for once weather looked like staying dry. Was fairly quiet over there did 40 min wait for Toy Story. DS thrashed us both

Star Tours, TOT and Great Movie ride all really short waits.

Sadly no Muppet Vision as closed till Sept so got boat back to Epcot (where we saw Clare D and family) for dinner at Chefs de France. Have to say food was very very average. Glad we are on plan as would have resented paying for it. We all had fixed price French onion soup, chicken and profiteroles. Dessert was fine but chicken only okay, soup was like greasy dishwater. Unlike Teppan Edo won't be going back.

DS went back to resort, DH and I stayed on for illuminations.

Today back to my favourite MK and dinner at BOG :thumbsup2

Day 9 and a Magical Day at Magic Kingdom. Changed our FP's to a little later in day so boys could have little lie in and arrived at park around 11.30. Was surprised how quiet it was probably quietest I've ever seen. Most rides at 10 min wait times all day :)
Had to miss first FP for Thunder Mountain as was broken down but got email on phone from My Disney experience saying we had auto update for free FP elsewhere anytime in day :thumbsup2
DH got picked to play suit of armour in Belles enchanted tales much to our amusement bless him he took his marching very seriously

Really liked this and voyage of little mermaid. Both very sweet. Did little shopping for DD I now have mickey wedding pic, wedding pin, wedding salt and pepper pots and just married bauble. Also got her some disney dollars for her honeymoon and thing Im most excited about, a reservation for BOG when she's here on honeymoon in October (was killing time in rain other afternoon on iPad so had a quick look on reservations and found one! Couldn't believe my luck, have been trying months)

Lunch was quickie at Columbia Harbour house. Usual sandwiches and salads. Used our free FP on Thunder which was back up and running again. Am really loving wrist bands they are quite conversation point with CM's who want to know what we think. Apparently views are quite mixed at moment according to server who seated us at BOG last night mainly due problems when people first get them? I did overhear man behind us ask CM where he could buy them at one point.

Weather stayed completely dry for 2nd day running which was good as we had late 8pm ADR for BOG. Arrived early around 7.40 and was seated immediately. Was very excited as this was ADR I wanted most of all. It did not disappoint at all. We were in main ballroom, our server said we were free to roam around but not to visit the master (beast) until after dinner as his room lead to exit

Food was delicious

And we met the master to thank him as you can see I was keener than DS. This is a rare pic only done on bribe of some Abercrombie gear.

Then we made quick dash for Wishes where I had my usual cry when Tinkerbelle flies over. A really magical day :)

We LOVE :love: Teppan Edo it's long been our absolute favourite restaurant.

I so hope we can get an ADR for BOG when we go next year from your photos it looks fabulous.

Thanks again for taking the time to do a live TR .... it really is appreciated :goodvibes

I'm glad you managed to get a reservation for your daughter for her honeymoon, how romantic. We really enjoyed BOG and all agreed we would definitely do that again.

We did Tappan Edo for the first too on this trip and had a great experience with a family from California. We all loved the food and the chef.

When we saw you we were off to Kouzzina by Cat Cora at the Boardwalk it was fantastic.

Thanks for taking time to read it. Glad you are enjoying it :) and just keep trying with BOG. We struggled a bit even for our onsite booking. First few days we tried were either booked or stupidly late times. Think you just have to be prepared to compromise a bit on time. Definitely well worth it.

I'm so excited I can't tell you! We are doing bridal shower next weekend and I'm going to put it in the bridal box with her disney dollars and some magical mickey confetti I picked up at parade the other day. She is going to be thrilled. She has been going on and on for months. It's all she wants to do. She's still a full grown disney princess even at 25. Gets it from me :rotfl:

Great updates, glad you enjoyed Teppan Edo and BOG

Really enjoying you TR :)

Day 11. Feel like home time is fast approaching now. Just a quick report today as didn't do much worth writing about. Spent morning by pool again. We would normally have used water parks but as Stormalong Bay is so nice don't really feel need. We aren't that bothered about water slides just like lazy river and SAB has its very own anyway. Quick lunch of lobster rolls from Hurricaine Hannah's. DDP is great but all food is killing me. Don't think I will eat for a week when I get home and we are a family who can eat!
Had quick shower and drove over to mall at millennia for bit more retail therapy. Was so hot we had to leave car running with aircon on for 5 mins before we could get in. Was showing 102 degrees in there for a while! Popped into Bloomies to stock up on Clinique as pleased as cheap and got free gift thrown in. DS did Abercrombie run. DH asked if he was on trolley dash at one point. Stopped off at Tiffanys to drool on counters. Saw most gorgeous watch $21000 lady offered to let me try on. DH declined for me. No idea why :rotfl:
Also popped to Jimmy Choo to look at shoes. Have been saving like mad to buy some for DDs wedding. Was really disappointed with selection they were quite ordinary for the price. Managed to find lovely Ralph Lauren pair in Macy's for $98 in the end.
Drove to I Drive for dinner at Olive Garden for a change from Disney food. Had usual bread and soup. Stuffed chicken masala for DH and I and pizza for DS for only $57. Then popped to Walgreens for stock of sweeties and stuff to take home. Don't buy nearly as much as we used to now tesco and asda sell it all.

Finished day off with crazy golf at Fantasia Gardens, only found out on Disboards recently this was free. I was useless lost two balls in water! Very good fun and lovely way to finish day off. Was nice and quiet too. We played along to background noise of Fantasmic carrying over from HS.

Today back to Universal :)

I hate it when that ' nearly going home time' feeling creeps up on you :-(

I remember having to turn the air con on and leave it for a while ! This is a snap I grabbed before jumping back out of the car in 2007 outside EPCOT !
