Good morning from the Yacht Club - live trip report

I hate it when that ' nearly going home time' feeling creeps up on you :-(

I remember having to turn the air con on and leave it for a while ! This is a snap I grabbed before jumping back out of the car in 2007 outside EPCOT !

Wow Tony it's a wonder seats hadn't melted. That's hot :rotfl:

Day 12 and a return trip to Universal. Started with quick sweep round IOA, seemed fairly quiet, all rides only 5-10 minutes apart from Harry Potter which was 45. Hopped over to US and headed straight to Springfield for lunch at Krusty Burger. Was impressed with system they use as basically you join queue for all counters they release few people at time and then they direct you to tables when you have paid rather than usual free for all.

Boys had burgers which they said were delicious. I had hot dog and as we were sat in Moes couldn't leave without trying a Flaming Moe

Looks great it is actually just fizzy orange, but we do get to keep glass.

Rode MIB and Mummy, Shrek and Minion Mayhem again before finishing on Transformers which I enjoyed much better when it didn't break down. Although we did get a single rider put on our row who whooped and hollered the whole ride through. Thankfully sat next to DH as he reeked of booze. I think I'd have found him quite intimidating if he'd been sat next to me.

Talking of booze we stopped off at Margaritaville for a quick cocktail. I drink so little I'm practically teetotal but I do love a Bahama mama from there. Delish

Headed out to T Rex for an early ADR. Have eaten there before and loved it. Have to say not so impressed this time. Think after 12 days on dining plan we are just sick of food. Portions were massive. DS had fish and chips and there were 4 fish fillets. He only managed 2.

We shared a dipping doughnut desert and there was masses of them. Bought some home for breakfast. Although dont know why. We still have 20 snack credits to get through in 3 days.
The boys fancied a movie after dinner, as I didn't fancy two hours of watching things get blown up. I got bus back to resort just ahead of short storm and had nice evening on my own. Started sorting bits and pieces ahead of going home in couple of days.

Am still having most lovely time but DH agrees you know it's time to come home when the Magic starts to wear thin and strollers, having to constantly wait for people taking pictures, people who get in line then have 10 family members join them last minute etc etc start to get on your nerves. DH says in the end he always wants to just leave his elbow out that little bit as he passes that little brat swinging on the railings so you just catch their head :rotfl:

Today is chilling by the pool AM and Hollywood Studios PM. Plus thinking of imaginative ways to spend 20 snack credits :)

Day 13 and weather seems to be getting hotter and hotter! started day with some pool time at SAB. Grabbed some pastries to use up a few snack credits. By 12 heat was too much so had quick showers and got boat across to HS. Had chicken club lunches at ABC Commissary. Saw family next to us come with their own picnic, sit down and help themselves to all Disney condiments etc :confused3 had usual FP's for TOT, RNR and Toy Story. As usual DS thrashed us. Had earlier than usual dinner at Mama Melrose so we could do early Fantasmic. Food was okay nothing to rave about but pleasant change from fries and steak
We all had spaghetti and meatballs

Followed by Panna Cotta

As DS didn't fancy Fantasmic he got boat back to resort. that's nice thing about on site. Older teens (he's 17) can do their own thing if they like. He went off to use gym and chat to friends on Internet

DS and I headed off to Fantasmic, was really worried it would be cancelled as some fierce lightning in distance but thankfully held off. Show was brilliant as ever.
(Sorry no idea why this pic has come out so small?)

Made dash at end and managed to get straight on boat which was good as weather broke just as we got back to room.

Last full day today. Doing more pool time this morning then back to MK this afternoon for one last ice cream sundae :sad1:

Lots of people buy bags of sweets to bring home :)

We tried that last year but they've priced the decent sized bags just a bit higher than you can get the a snack credit and I understand they've put the prices up again since then. I wanted to buy some of the little boxes of cookies as gifts but couldn't get them using my leftover snack credits :sad2:

can't tell you why but for some reason I have only just come across your TR:confused3 and must say I have really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for taking time to do it. It has really put me in holiday mode, although we don't arrive until mid November (11 Mondays at work to go..I HATE Mondays). :goodvibes

Ahh thank you for reading:)

Just a quick addition forgot to say they are now scanning bands and room cards as you enter SAB. At beginning of holiday you just had to show card or be wearing band :confused3

It's up to 6oz so basically gummy sweets or lollipops. They do have some iced cookies I might try to bring home but not sure how they will do in heat :confused3

We bought the cookies home (the fresh ones not pre-packaged ones) and they were sort of ok but certainly past their best. We took so much care not to squash them and took them to my mum and dads the day we landed and there were disappointing. What did travel really well though were the nut clusters you can get, they were glorious.

Oh my gosh Vanda I totally missed those :scared1: WHERE do I get my hands on those little yummies :rolleyes1

we got them from Goofy's Candy Co in DTD..they had cashew ones and macadamia ones..Soooo Goood! Hopefully they are still a snack credit:goodvibes

We couldn't believe the number of people pushing their way into a queue to meet up with their family.
We had sent DH to FP Soaring whilst we waited outside TT.
When he caught up with us we then entered the queue. This wasn't the case for some American families where dad suddenly came up the line to meet his family. It was so obvious he had been sent to FP something else as he had sweat all over him.

Loved Transformers. On our second rider were sat at the front and there was a. funny smell. The seats at the back were covered in sick so suddenly the family at the back were shouting for te doors to be opened and they got us off.

How could you not say anything?

Love those nut clusters. We saw them but I forgot to get them on remaining snack credits. Instead we bought a load of bagged sweets.

Enjoy your last day

Can see me headed to DTD candy store too, they look yummy. Enjoying your trip report, have a great last day & safe travels.

Day 14 and sadly our last full day. Grabbed a quick breakfast at marketplace then grabbed an hour or so pool time before shower and off to Magic Kingdom. Headed straight to hat shop at top of Main Street to redeem the voucher guest services gave us for free bride and groom ears. Thankfully groom ears were back in stock. Total came to $43 dollars so thanks Disney for a very generous gift :thumbsup2 popped them in a locker so they didn't get squashed and headed across to splash and thunder mountains. When we got off Thunder noticed FP queue was huge. Went right way back to Splash mountain shop? Dont know if they have been having problems with FP system but have noticed this a couple of times. Same thing happened to us at HS when we FP TOT the queue was longer than regular one?
Had quick sandwich in Columbia Harbour house before Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and quick snooze in Carousel of Progress. Spent some snack credits on our favourite sundaes at Auntie Gravitys

Then caught the afternoon parade

Got bit annoyed with CM shouting at people for standing on very low wall. Kept threatening them with security. H&s gone mad. She had no problem with people standing with umbrellas at front to keep sun away bobbing up and down and smacking people on the head with them. One lady nearly got me in the eye when she got excited as characters came right over to us. Plus if they had taken umbrellas down people behind wouldn't need to stand on walls to see!
As it was US bank holiday weekend park was very busy. Headed back to Haunted Mansion and then Philarmagic.
Me and DH in our Opry glasses

Was going to try to fit in POTC before dinner but queue 40 mins and we only had 30 so had stroll along Main Street and spent some snack credits before dinner at Tonys Town Square Restaurant. Never really taken much notice of this place before as being at top of Main Street you're either dashing in or out of park. it was very busy because of Bank Holiday but we got seated quickly right by doors onto terrace which was great timing as thunderstorm was brewing as we sat down. Place is quite pretty we sat in conservatory that reminded me of Crystal Palace. Food was fine nothing spectacular but perfectly edible. Boys had steak, I had chicken parmagiano, followed by Spumoni (3 layer ice cream and crime brûlée)
Am usually quite sad to leave MK for last time but weather helped immensely. As storm was still going and it was thrashing down decided to give electrical parade a miss and ran for bus without looking back. Did our on line check in for today and started packing.

So sadly that's us done. Have had one of the best holidays ever. The only reason it wasn't perfect is that our DD wasn't with us. Yacht Club was just amazing and loved magic bands I am a total convert to on site as is DH although maybe without DDP there was just too much food and having to book all those table service meals was just bit too restrictive for us. We will definitely be back here sometime.

Not too sad to be leaving as know we will be back here at Christmas, although that will be off site with DBIL and family and only for 10 nights. That will probably be our last WDW for a whole as DH wants to do Pacific Highway San Francisco to LA next year. Although rumour has it there's a Place over there called Disneyland so may have to pop in!

So bye for now. I'm off to co-ordinate DDs wedding. Just hope my outfit still fits after all this food ;)

Well you certainly had what looks to be an amazing holiday ...... I hope all the wedding plans and preparations go well.

Thank you so much for an wonderful live trippie it's been a joy to read .....safe travels :goodvibes
