Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast

I was reading Simon's book the other day and noticed about the Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfast. it sounds like a great idea so I'm wondering whether to treat myself


Is it possible to book this when you arrive or would I have to arrange it before leaving.

I'm travelling with Leger so I'm not sure if I'm able to book it as part of the package with them.

Nik most tour operators state that it has to be requested at the time of booking, Leger do offer the GMF -we had one when we booked through them, it's probably too late to request it through them now, but you shouldn't have a problem booking one when you arrive.

First Choice hadn't booked ours last time, but the only day I couldn't have was the moning after our arrival, other than that the others were all available.
Request it as soon as you check-in and I'm sure it won't be a problem. I'd definately recommend it - we've had them at Au Chalet de la Marionnette ideal for getting onto Peter Pan before the crowds and last time at Bella Notte, not far from IASW. The breakfast will be the same as your hotel breakfast but both these restaurants are very pretty inside if you've not been in them before, plus you get to walk down Main Street before the crowds, ideal for photographs.

Take the advice of many and do not go on the train. You will get there much quicker on foot and have an enjoyable breakfast rather than the scrum when the hordes arrive

Didn't know you had the choice to walk. First time we went and did the Fantasyland brekkie, we may have been ignorant of what to expect but we expected characters and were disappointed. By the time we had finished eating (and we didn't waste time) the public had been admitted to the park. Felt the whole experience was a waste of time. Didn't do it second time we went but staying in the Disneyland Hotel for breakfast was so nice compared to the Sequoia Lodge where we had to decide on check in what time we wanted breakfast every day in advance. One morning youngest DS was so tired he just would not wake up and DH had to stop with him while oldest DS and I went for breakfast!

You are not "forced" to directly have breakfast, you can first go on a couple of rides, and then have breakfast.

We usually walk (a couple of years ago, they didn't allow to walk, probably because they were still doing the daily maintenance on Main Street or so) and enjoy the restaurant while it's still "empty". We don't do GMF because of the rides, just because the restaurant in the park is less hectic than the one at the Santa Fe AND because then we know in advance at what time we'll have breakfast. One trip, upon checking in, the only breakfast slots still available at the hotel were before 7 am or after 10 am (and then you miss half of your park day!)

On checkout day, we now do GMF BF, then go on a couple of rides and then, by 10.30, return to the hotel to pack and drop suitcases off at the Bagagerie. That way, we avoid the long lines at the hotel breakfast AND the long lines at the Bagagerie.
But sometimes, going twice on Space Mountain after the huge breakfast I always eat, isn't that much of a good idea!

As far as I'm aware characters have never been present at the GMF - although Character breakfasts are available at a cost of around £26/adult and we usually try to have at least one during a trip.
The GMF we do purely for the early entry to the park, grab 2 croissants hastily wash them down with a glass of orange juice and we're ready to go

Hi,

Have booked GMFB's for our forthcoming trip. Couldn't do then first time as we stayed at Davy Crockett. Sounds like an excellent tip to walk rather than get the train. Personally I have booked these purely to get on Dumbo as early as possible as this was the favoured ride last time.

So my qustion is, is it possible to have an early breakfast in the hotel first and then walk to Fantasyland and wait for Dumbo? Please note that I have no intention of claiming 2 breakfasts!!

No - you forfeit your hotel breakfast ticket for your GMF one, unless you're lucky like we were last time, we were staying at the NPB Admirals' quarters and were given an invitation letter to have breakfast in one of the more private bar areas as opposed to the normal breakfast room. We could have breakfast anytime between 8.00 and 10.00 no booking a slot it was lovely, and all we had to do was show this letter.

So we could've had breakfast at the hotel and not bothered with the GMF breakfast, just used it for early entry to the park, but it didn't even occur to us until much later in the day, when we realised how stupid we'd been.

Take my advice and don't take your Father-in-law when he is wearing new shoes and has a super blister and can't walk quickly or far! Had thought tis would be nice for my Husbands Birthday and I wanted a photo of us two in front of the castle (I would have to ask a passer by to do it if I wanted our heads in!) Yet we got to the park at 10.15 and lined up with everyone else!

Another great plan ruined!

Still I recommend it without your in-laws!

Last November, I arrived on Tuesday and was unable to book GMF breakfast until Friday, the day we were leaving. I had already made a booking by fax, so I was ok, but I would recommend booking in advance if at all possible. Otherwise, don't worry too much about it because it isn't a huge perk IMO, allthough nice thing to do for a change. I walked for the earlier sitting but still didn't get out til 9.55 - it depends how fast you eat!

To the poster who had difficult breakfast times at the Sequoia Lodge - you can show up at any time in reality - we did because our times were also before 7 or after 10am. We were seated immediately every time (although we did get there before 8 to avoid the biggest crowds). This is probably the case in the other hotels too - they surely wouldn't deny you breakfast with a sleepy child, although they may make you wait longer for a table. (Just my opinion)

Thanks for your advice guys. I wasn't that fussed about a Character breakfast as such so didn't make further enquiries at time of booking. I'm travelling on my own with no kiddies so it didn't seem worth forking out for a character breakfast. It was only when I was reading Simon's book that I realised that there was another option.

Is it expensive to book a GMF breakfast does anyone know? I think it might be an idea as the Peter Pan ride particularly is on my to do list. I wanted to go on it last time I went but the queues were horrendous - even to get a fastpass so I put it on my 'save it till next time' list. I'm determined to get on it this time though.

NIK, the GMFB's are FREE! Depending upon when you are going you would be advised to arrange them before you go - I'm sure I've read somewhere that they are often fully booked.

I understand that Dumbo and possible the carousel are usually opened early. Even if Peter Pan isn't opened early, you will at least be first in the queue.

I know it may already be booked up for our trip (we leave in five days), but this thread has persuaded me to try and go for the GMF breakfast.

As we booked directly through DLP and not a tour operator, any ideas on what number we should ring to try and get ourselves booked up for one of the mornings?

On one day Dumbo, Teacups and IASW were the only rodes open early. The next day Peter Pan, Dumbo and Teacups was open
