I totally agree with you Mickeymom. My DH is disabled and this show has done more for him and his rehab then anything else. He is currently working on projects to help others in our community. The more we can help one another in this life the richer our own lives are. Ty and ABC you are the best. Please keep up your great works.
I feel the need to share this story. I have a friend who is a Viet Nam veteran. My huband is also a Viet Nam veteran as well as retired military. Together we were watching one of the shows last year about two young men who had just returned from their tour in Iraq. Their plans were to move into one of their mothers basements upon their return. The mom had done major amounts of work to make the basement comfortable and clean. However, there was a flood and the basment was distroyed. Ty and ABC selected the two servicemen for their extreme makeover.
The basement was restored (helping the mom), and the two servicemen were given a condo with furnishings and each received a car. (helping two of our servicemen who had been serviceing our country.) Now, here is my point: My husband thought the show was fantastic, he was so very happy for these two men and their mom. Our friend, well his take on it was rage and upset, as no one gave him a d.... thing when he returned from Viet Nam. It is sad to see him have the attitude that it wasn't given to him, so this was wrong. He now refuses to watch the show.
Two completly different prospectives!
