Good local restaurants off site?

Cafe TuTu Tango was a really neat dining experience (somewhere off of I drive, I believe)

We never miss the following...

1. Giordano's - Chicago Deep Dish Pizza (better than Uno) plus wide variety of oItalian dishes. 2 locations.

2. Carrabas - Iialian reasonably priced; way better than Olive Garden

3. Cracker Barrel - 2 locations; good "home style"cooking.

:thumbsup2

I'm going to move this over to our Orlando board for you.

Sonny's Real Pit BBQ, I swear this place has some addictive food. I used to go there just about every week and the prices are reasonable as well. I'm not sure of prices as I haven't been there in about 8 years but it used to be like $7.99 for all the ribs, fries, slaw, beans, and garlic bread you can eat. And they have this sweet bbq sauce that is amazing. I order this stuff by the half gallon through their website. If your into BBQ definetly check this place out. There's one on Highway 192 in Kissimmee and a bunch in Orlando.

Unfortunately the 192 location of Sonny's closed after the hurricanes, reopened then closed again. There are other locations and the food is addicting and worth searching out.

If you exit at the Downtown Disney side of the property and go straight across to CrossRoads plaza, there are a bunch of restaurants easy to find:

Chevy's, Perkins, Uno's TGIFridays, QUizno's, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Johnny's HIdeaway, Sweet Tomatoes...may be one or two more....

turn left at the light instead of going straight over to Crossroads, and you have and Angus Steakhouse, BurgerKing, Denny's, Pizza Hut and Olive Garden within the next block....or turn right at the light at Olive Garden and you have another slew of restaurants in a shopping center!

If you're exiting at the Downtown Disney side of the property and turn RIGHT at teh light by CrossRoads plaza...if you go about 2 traffic lights up...on the left, you have things like Bahama Breeze, Golden Coral and Lonestar (my fave!), along with more if you follow that road back just a little bit (goes to the outlets).

You have so many choices, and most are super easy to find. :)

I don't know exactly where it's at but on my list of resturaunts (since we're doing the same as you) is Joe's crab shack, Tijuana Flats (this is one of mine and DH's favorite mexican resturaunts), giordianos, Worlds largest mcdonalds. (I know it's a mcd's but its my DD's favorite and since it the worlds largest I figure what the heck! They have a much bigger menu with stuff like eggs benedict, paninis, etc!)
We may try Boston Lobster feast too. (does anyone have any reviews on this place?)

Mama Della's at Universal's Portofino Bay hotel was really good.

I also like to try restaurants that are not in my area, thouhg I don't mind trying new chains I do like to try local places as well.

Joe's is in Celebration. Take I-4 to 192 East and it will be on your right just past the water tower if I'm not mistaken.

here's one from above:

Another is about 1 mile from the Downtown Disney exit side. When you get to the light to the main road, make a left at this light. Go through 1 traffic light, and right before the next traffic light, I think there's a Joe's Crab Shack on the left there...it's before you get to the next light where Walgreen's is.

Use 32830 for Lake Buena Vista and 34747 for Kissimmee. There are probably some others but that gets you the right area.

Duh me! I didn't know my thread had been moved :confused3 (explains why I couldn't find it ;)). I just now noticed I had a notification.

thanks so much for all of the info!!

Looking for folks who have eaten at these places
Johnnie's Hideaway and Lee&Rick's Oyster Bar.
Comments please and I thank you knidly.

We got restaurant.com certificates for BB Kings -- great BBQ food and live music!

One of our favorites is the Bahama Breeze, particularly the one on International Drive!

May DD loves crabs where is the best place to get crabs that won't break the bank and not a buffet. A place with good Alaskan King Crab. I found two places so far Joe's Crab Shack and The Crab House. Which is better and which is closer to Universal. We'll be there 4 days before we get to Disney with the DDP. Thanks for the help.
