Dh and I were at Studios tonight and saw some bad guest behavior that was handled very well by the CM's!

We saw a family of 3, dad, mom and son. They tried scanning their cards for a fp, and were told they did not have fp for and were directed to the standby line--which they got in.

We scanned our fp, and as we started walking, this family hopped over the chain and continued in the fastpass line in front of us.

They tried scanning their tickets again up at the front, and were told their next fastpass was for Mermaid, not the ride we were going on. First they tried just walking past the CM, ignoring the blue light and pretending they didn't speak English. Then they tried to play the, "Oh, we didn't know...." card, but the CM held firm. Good for her!

Then, on our way out of the park, we saw a family hanging out by the exit on the other side. It seemed as if they were planning this, because as a big group of us were exiting, this family of 3 tried to sneak in going through the exit. A CM stopped them and sternly told the adult, "NO. You need to go to the other side and scan your tickets." The adult then pushed through and kept walking! The two children stood there looking bewildered not knowing if they should follow their parent or do as the CM said!

Yikes. What a stressful job the CM's have!

it is very bad behavior for sure but Disney has to take some responsibility for charging $90+ a day to go to a park only to find out you can only get on 4 rides......

So this is partially Disney's fault? Sorry I don't see it, regardless of the price.
Bad behavior is bad behavior & just inexcusable (IMO).

HUH???!!! peopel trying to cheat and sneak into a park without paying is IN NO WAY!! Disn'ey's fault!

even IF your suppositions are true,, which they aren't.. first, It is only 90+ for the FIRST day... do your research.. after day 4 , it is it only $10 a day.

second.. who says you can only get on 4 rides? sheesh.. you can book 3 FP ahead of time, then get FP after that. and you can use the standby line.. we go on many rides in a single day.

now if, for some resaon you didn't plan well, and you end up going on only 4 rides,, that is NOT disney's fault. and it is NEVER ok to cheat cut in line, or steal. or try to sneak in the park..

:thumbsup2 Well said.

It's sad that guest behavior happens more then people think. I'm a former cm and worked in dinoland attractions in the early 2000s and can still remember the argument I got in with a mother that was trying to board primeval whirl. She was trying to tell me her son was tall enough, but was clearly 6 inches under the measure stick on the platform. She finally realized that I was going to let them on the ride and walked off in a huff.

We've seen some pretty bad behavior over the years.

The worst was on year at Universal. We were behind a family that was having a hard time getting in. Half of their party was in the park and the other half was outside. I'm not sure exactly what the issue was but I think one child and one adult didn't have a ticket. They solved it by pushing the kid through the stroller/wheelchair gate while they were arguing with and distracting the lady working the turnstile. The one family member put a ticket inside the phone case of her phone and passed it to her friend over the turnstile. She turned around to us so her back was to the person working and took the ticket out and tried to use it. It of course said that the ticket had just been used. They tried to say this person was just in the park but had turned around and left but forgot her phone which was why the other lady passed it to her. This kind of stuff drives me nuts so I did tell the worker what I saw. Ultimately the family just walked away and the people working just left them go.

The same day we also saw a family try to scam the single rider line on the Mummy. We were behind them. The person at the beginning of the line explained the concept of the single rider line. They did not want to be separated they said so they got in the standby line. When the lines entered the building they snuck under the ropes in front of us so they were in the single rider line. The whole time in line they were plotting their story for the line attendant at the front. Their big problem was that one girl was too afraid to ride alone so it was go together or she wasn't going so of course they would tell them that the person outside told them they could ride together.

When we got to the front of the line they proceeded to argue with the line person. He held his ground but they kept arguing. They tried arguing through probably 3 train loadings. I was annoyed because they were holding me up with their nonsense so I spoke up. I told the person what happened and they pulled them out of line. They told them they could ride single rider or leave. All but the girl who was afraid ended up rising single rider.

I just don't understand this behavior. Imagine what the first family taught their daughter that day as they pushed her through the stroller/wheelchair hate.

People are unbelievable. Lovely example to set for your kids.

That's all I can think. Really? People would d be proud that their kids learned this kind of behavior from them? It explains a lot about the world today.

Really!!!!
Amazing viewpoint and another example of folks not thinking they are accountable for their own actions

You can ride more than 4 rides. Saying that you can't is beyond ridiculous.

I have done two trips since FP+ started where I was unable to make advance FP+ reservations due to using CM comp tickets. (Marathon Weekend and Everest Weekend - the latter being during F&G - neither time were the parks exactly dead.)

And I was able to a) get FP+ when I got into the parks each day and b) ride plenty of things *gasp* WITHOUT having a FP+ for them with little to no wait.

I don't agree with the OP, but I think people are being intentionally dense. Anyone who has visited the studios would understand that there was not much to do here and that was before they removed several attractions. Also, because of FP+ you most likely will not be able to ride TSMM with a fastpass. Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite parks and a big reason why we bought DVC at Boardwalk. I can enjoy myself there without ever getting on an attraction. However, if I were to go to that park unplanned for a day with my family under the current system; I would feel ripped off.

The comment regarding multi day tickets being less expensive is also not valid. My very first visit to Orlando for a conference, I got out early and headed to Disney World. Saw the Tower of Terror and bought a full price ticket to go into the park. Two days later I bought another full price ticket for the Magic Kingdom. People here are much more engaged than the general public. To pretend otherwise is dishonest.

1. You chose to buy two separate single day tickets. That is on you. Though the discount for a 2 day pass isn't much, you do save a little over 2 individual own days. To pretend that you couldn't save money is dishonest. And your poor planning does not make what was said invalid if you read an actual pricing chart.
2. Plenty ride TSM without a FP.
3. There are more than 4 attractions in DHS. 5 are rides and the rest are shows.

I wasn't complaining about the cost of day tickets. Just explaining that many people have no idea on their first visits the ticket pricing structure among other things. Regarding TSMM, in the past many may have ridden it without FP, but now it is extremely impractical. However, some days there is no SB line. Also, there is a several hour wait for SB just about every time I have visited.

I have to laugh at people who are so in love with Disney that they can see nothing wrong nor room for improvement. I still very much enjoy HS, but ignoring the fact that they have closed a great deal of the park with nothing to replace it saddens me. I really hope they have something big planned, but the longer they go without announcement cause me to think they are doing an EPCOT pt.2. Close attractions without replacing them and charge more.

Can you honestly disagree with the fact that we are paying more and getting less?

To the original post, I still disagree with the actions but can understand the frustration. Disney apologists notwithstanding.

Regardless of how one may feel about FP+, Disney is in no way to blame for guests who so blatantly think the rules don't apply to them.
