Good jeans??

How much are the Maurice's jeans? I hate spending more than $30 on a pair of jeans!
I heard that clothing manufacturers put the stretch in jeans to keep up with the ever growing weight gain in the American population! But I hate having to wear belts tight around my hips to keep my pants from growing a size or two during the day. And this makes me wash them much more often to make them shrink again!

Also Gap is going to be closing a bunch of stores so maybe there will be clearance deals...

They are $30-35 and if you sign up in the store you'll get monthly coupons in the mail for 20-25% off usually.

My good friend was JUST complaining about this very problem. The solution she found for being able to buy 100% cotton jeans: buy men's jeans. And you know what? It totally worked and they looked great on her. Go figure.

It seems if you want 100% cotton jeans you have to go to the men's department. Just about every pair of women's jeans has that 1% spandex in them to make them stretch.

I just found an ancient pair of Old Navy jeans in my closet that were 100% cotton - I wonder if they are still available without Spandex in the store?

LOVE Gap jeans. I'm a shorty, so it's ankle length for me. Also, I love Banana Republic. Their jeans are wonderful, but they're owned by the same company as Gap and Old Navy, so maybe they're the same jeans??? Anyway, I also don't care for jeans that stretch out after a few hours of wear, and I can attest that Gaps and BRs don't.

Went to Gap and every store at the mall - NO women's jeans without spandex or stretch elastic! Guess I'll try men's next unless someone can tell me any store that has 100% cotton jeans for women???

Did you check Maurices? I just checked the tags on mine and 2 pair are 100% cotton and the others are 99% and 98%. My Old Navy jeans are 99%.

That's weird, I have never had this problem with the stretchy jeans across several brands and I don't spend much on jeans, so they're all cheapies - I actually have this problem with non-stretchy jeans. They get worn during the day and then the butt starts to sag. Probably because I don't have a butt to begin with, ugh. I'm a big fan of the Charlotte Russe Refuge jeans, but I think most of them are stretchy. I do have a pair of Express jeans that aren't stretchy that I love.

I bought two pairs of Chic jeans at an outlet in Florida and love them. Was recently in Milwaukee and found that they stock them at the Fleet stores there, so I bought all three they had in my size.

LL Bean also has nice, regular denim jeans.

Are the NYDJ reasonably priced at the nordstrom rack? I tried on a pair and fell in love. Just not willing to pay that price.

Last time I saw them there, they were around $40. Their selection is very limited though, at least in petites.

I have Old Navy Jeans and love them! Cheap too. I think regular price is 25. I get them at the "outlet" store for 15. The ones at the outlet are not even rejects just the normal ones.

jeans you will love also depend on your body shape. I like Old Navy as the bug booty/hip but smaller waist style fit me well. My mother who is no hip/booty and a little extra waist actually loves men's jeans the best. She buys them at the Lee's outlet store for 10 bucks.

Good luck with your jeans hunt.

A long, slow death to the person who decided to make Levis STRETCH. :headache: They are LEVIS, for crying out loud. If they are too tight, buy a bigger size.

I HATE stretchy jeans. I'd rather wear grandmom stretch band jeans if I'm going to wear such things.

I'm also at the point if I buy jeans with stretch I buy a size smaller even if it means muffin top because by the end of the day they fit great.

I have some jeans from Maurice's that I bought probably 3 years ago and they are still in great shape . They do not have the gap thing in the back and my butt even stays in place.

I bought a new pair of jeans from Avenue (plus size store) that I ADORE. They are called jeans in the raw. They are not your old school comfortable cotton but they do not stretch for the most part and fit where they are supposed to fit. I bought one pair and loved them so much I went and bought 2 more pairs.

I've found that jeans shopping ranks right up there with bra shopping...they both suck. ;)
I'm 39, 5'2 and wear a size 3/5 in juniors. Not intending to brag at all, it's actually frustrating because I don't want to wear juniors! However, I can't wear size 4 in womens they are too big, and finding a size 2 in womens is ridiculously impossible. I don't get it :confused3. Usually the smallest size in womens is 6. Pooey.
I have a pair of levis that I've pretty much warn out so I am on the prowl for jeans again.
