Good jeans for a "mom jeans" figure?

I'm a size 12 with a "muffin top." (Nice word for flabby belly).

I'd like a dressier pair of dark jeans that flatter that figure.

In a dream world, I'd like them at a bargain price, but am prepared to spend more if that's what it takes to get a good looking fit.

What jeans would you suggest?

Have you tried the Target Merona fit solution jeans? They have a little tummy control panel in front and are awesome!!!!!! (as a bonus they are only 20-30 bucks a peice so budget compared to lots of other jeans)

I love Lee stretch jeans from Walmart....they fit so well, and only about 20.00!
Just don't buy low cut jeans, make sure they cover the booty even while sitting!

I bought a pair at Kohls. They were Lee brand and they had a comfort waist. The waist grows with you so to speak. They are super comfortable and look nice too.

I second this. And with Kohl's coupons and sales...you can get them at a good price. They also make comfort band capris and shorts :thumbsup2

These are my go to dressy jeans, no they are not budget, but an amazing fit, just right for us Moms who want to be fashionable and comfortable.

The other jeans folks have mentioned.. I looked awful in the Target jeans and the rest aren't what I would consider to be dressy jeans. I have had luck at Ann Taylor Loft for Jeans, you can get really good prices there if you wait for a sale which is about every other week LOL.

These jeans sit a little bit lower on the waist .. but now low rise. Makes a really good looking behind lol! Mom jeans that are high waisted don't do anything for a rear end, in fact make it look worse.

I lucked up with a pair of jeans from the Liz Claiborne outlet for $15. I'm not sure which "fit" they are, I'll check on that. They aren't low cut, but they aren't real high waisted either. They have a little stretch in the hips and thighs, which is really comfortable.

I love my Dreamer jeans from Old Navy. I am similar in size and after 2 c-sections have a belly. I definitely understand. I also like the straight leg jeans from New York and co. They are a little higher waisted but great!!!

Jeans shopping was always so disappointing until I found Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans at Kohl's a few years ago. Now when I need a new pair, I just buy those because I know they will fit me. So, no more depressing jeans 'shopping.' lol

The Amanda style has a slight stretch to the material and are very comfortable. They are available in 2 shades of blue jeans, and also in black, beige, kahki, green, and maybe some other colors. The colored ones are the pants that i wear to work.

And the best thing is - just yesterday at Costco, they had a large table of these Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans for only $14.99! The normal price at Kohl's is around $40. I've been sorta needing a new (smaller!) pair of jeans, and was able to pick some up at Costco yesterday. It feels great to be wearing a smaller size jean today - and that they only cost $15. :)

I also vote for the Lee stretch jeans with the comfort waist thing. They are the best jeans I have ever worn.

I like Ann Taylor too. However, since this is the Budget Board, I'll take it a little further. I found some great jeans at the Ann Taylor outlet for $35. If you have one near you, it's definitely worth the trip.

Banana Republic has some nice fitting jeans. I'd describe myself just as you described you ;)

"Not Your Daughter's Jeans" are wonderful. Not cheap (about $116/pr) but worth every penny. They have many different washes and fits. You buy a size smaller than what you usually wear and they fit wonderfully. They also don't look like "mom jeans" especially if you don't tuck in a top. I have a pair of straight-leg acid wash and I wear them cuffed up like capris and they look great. :thumbsup2

I have one near me, I need to go see if they have the modern fit jeans, I could use an extra pair. Been dealing with one for now , also regular Ann Taylor store will put things on sale from time to time, but not as often as the Loft I find.

I wear Ann Taylor jeans too. They are the best I've found for a flattering look.

I love Gap's Long and Lean jean. It accentuates the good and hides the not so good. ;) I especially love them right after I have a baby when my belly is not so fit. They run about $60, I think, but there are always coupons to be found.

I have never been impressed with NYDJ I have some. They are high waisted and still look like Mom jeans to me.

Oh yes! Gaps long and lean are good too, been awhile since Ive bought a pair. My last ones died a sad death due to a paint related accident. ; )

check out online for the best color selection. There is a nice very dark wash that looks dressier. I have never paid more than $20 for them at Kohl's.. usually less with a coupon.
