Good Info Mixed with Negativity

I've been reading and posting to DIS for a few weeks now. As a newbie planning his first visit to WDW in June, I have found a treasure trove of information. However, considering we are all like minded lovers of all things Dinsney, I'm confused by the amount if negativity that permeates DIS, especially when people disagree about how best to experience any aspect of WDW. At the top if the list of topics which tends to bring out the anger, confrontation, and arguments is the the use of FP+. I've even caused a major disagreement by asking for advice on booking FP+.

I appreciate all the input to the questions posted my me and others, but why the attacks on opinions? Isn't every Disney experience unique to each visitor? Therefore, offer your advice, opinion, and leave it at that. I'm taking it all in and will make decisions on what I feel will best suit for me, my wife, and our trip.

Be happy, people. Disney, after all, IS the happiest place on Earth.

Trying to remain secular, but AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very well put, as well as insightful, for a newbie!
Sincere Thank You!

We need MORE people like you on the boards! I completely agree!

As I tell my children, we have to lead by example. Some posters can be a bit opinionated and argumentative but you have to just ignore them (and you can actually put them on ignore so you don't see their posts if you would like) and walk away. We do have guidelines here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm/ and if you feel someone is violating them please report the post using the red triangle with the ! found at the bottom of the username box.

Fortunately the wonderful posters far outweigh the bad. :)

Thanks for the good vibes. Here's more 'good info.' I'm no longer 'earning my ears,' I'm a 'Mouseketeer.' Very exciting, especially considering I remember watching the original Mikey Mouse Club. (R.I.P. Annette)

Welcome!

You've joined at a particularly volatile time. The changes that Disney has made aren't incredibly popular with a pretty vocal group of people here-- even people who haven't experienced them yet.

But you know how it is-- when something is comfortable and works well for you, you hate the thought of it changing. Lots of people here have spent years worth of vacations at Disney World, have a system that works well for them, and feel as though the rug has been pulled out from under them. Change is rarely easy.

As for us: I'm looking forward to our July/August trip, and to experiencing all the changes for myself. I do love the idea that I can book FP+ ahead of time. As to the rest-- I'll roll with the punches. Lif'es too short to sweat something like changes to the rides I can do at Disney World. At the end of the day, this is about a vacation, not life and death. If my kids get to ride Soarin' one less time over the course of a weeklong vacation, then they'll find something else to ride. Life will go on, vacation will go on, and we'll have a great time enjoying each other's company.
