I am looking for a nice hotel in Gatlinburg/PF for 2 nights in July before our family reunion. I would love one at a great price, of course! We have 6 in our family so I need one that has a sleeper sofa too. A free breakfast would be a plus! Anyone have any suggestions? I checked into cabins too, but most had a booking fee plus cleaning, which made it quite a bit more in cost. Thanks :thumbsup2

Finding one in July at a good price is going to be difficult. We usually only make day trips but occasionally will stay overnight in the off season if we can get a great deal. We have stayed at the Music Road Hotel, Mainstay Suites, the Fairfield Inn in Sevierville (which is across from the Tanger outlets), Comfort Inn Apple valley, and the Clarion Inn. I'm not sure what kind of price you are looking for, but the Music Road was the nicest and has a nice pool area for kids. For location, either the Mainstay suites or Fairfield Inn. All of the ones we have stayed at were clean. There are tons of hotels in the area with a wide range of prices. Some are not so nice if you know what I mean. Since we go to the area regularly, if you would let me know what you are looking for I may be able to direct you better.

I know exactly what you mean about the hotels not being so nice:rolleyes1
That is why I thought I would get recommendations from those on the Dis who have had a good experience. I am looking for under $100 if possible and it really doesnt matter if it is PF or GBurg. Pool area a must as it will be July. Free Breakfast like I said would help. Thanks again

I am pretty sure that all the hotels we have stayed in have free breakfast. Some have better pool areas than others - Music Road had the best. My favorite was the Music Road but I'm not sure it would come in under $100 a night.

I checked the Music Road, but it would be at least $350 plus taxes so a bit more than $100 per night. It looks really nice, though.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Apple Valley last month, and we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. I usually avoid Comfort Inns, but this one had rave reviews on Trip Advisor so we decided to give it a shot. It was roomy, spotlessly clean, and a great price (~$65/night). It was great having the Apple Barn Restaurant right next to us too. I would highly recommend the Comfort Inn if you're just looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay for a few nights.

Wow, you went at a great time! Just checked their site and a room for us in July would be $134 per night. Pays to go in the off season I guess!

If you dont; mind being in Sevierville, Expedia has the Quality Inn & Suites River Suites listed. It has a 3 queen bed room. Hotel has an indoor and outdoor poll and free breakfast. I jsut picked soem dates (7/15-17) and it came up as $79.99 one night and $89.99 the next. I know absolutely nothing about the place. The rating on Expedia is 4.4 out of 5, but I would definitley check it out on Trip Advisor.

If you do decide to book there, also check the rate on the Choice Hotels website. They have a best rate guarantee, and you get 10% off if you find a cheaper rate within 24 hours. You cna book through Choice and then send them the link shopwign the price at Expedia, but hou HAVE to do it within 24 hours. If they can verify it, they will give you the cheaper rate plus 10% off that rate. I did that once when Travelzoo had a deal listed on the Comfort Inn LBV.

Check out the Red Roof Inn in Pigeon Forge. Its centrally located, clean, beautiful indoor heated pool thats open 24 hours, nice breakfast (just nice), wonderfully friendly staff. We are going at the end of March for our third trip to PF and third stay at this hotel. We are staying for 7 nights and the total for the hotel is less than $400 before tax.

This probably wouldn't fit your price range, but we went there last year and stayed at the Riverstone Resort in Pigeon Forge and it was the BEST! We want to go back just to stay there. We are also a family of 6 and it was SO nice to have room to spread out.

Have fun!

LOVE the Inn at Christmas Place, nice pool w/slide,indoor pool and hot buffet breakfasst w/omelets and Singing Santa. Used AAA disc. a little pricey, but worth it,at least for a night or two. Good budget places are the NormaDan Motel (big indoor and outdoor pool, clean ,cheap, continental w/ Krisy Crme. Doughnuts).Cold Creek resort was good (nice indoor pool),but water pressure not so good.Have heard good things about Mainstay from friends.

I second the Red Roof Inn Pigeon Forge. Good location, clean, free breakfast and great staff. You can walk next door to some shops, mini golf, and restaurants (the Smokey Mountain Brewery is good). The family suite will sleep 6, just have to call. You can't book 6 online, you have to call. We stayed in August 2008 and actually booked again for spring break with 6 people and it was going to run $82 a night (which she gave me a deal since we've stayed before), but it would have been for $90, I think. I just had to cancel because of a change of plans though.

I actually just checked the RRI a bit ago and saw the family suite online. Called to get the price and the lady said that it wasnt available for our dates (of course). What kind of room did you get when you had 6 staying there (what were the bed options)? The only other options online were a Q/Q room or a K room. I have friends that stay there everytime they go, but didnt think our family would fit. Thanks

We have the same problem with hotels in the PF/Gatlinburg area. Most of them are very cheap and not very clean. I did find a great hotel in Gatlinburg over Valentine's weekend. It is the Hilton Garden Inn in Gatlinburg. Great hotel!! We live in the area, but sometimes stay overnight. Also, have you considered renting a cabin? It is much more economical if you are sharing cost and there are some huge cabins that are very nice compared to the bad hotels in the area.

You might want to look into renting a cabin. We found one over chirstmas that was only 15 more dollars than moderiate hotel rooms. We had a kitchen, hottub, living room, and could even bring out dog with us.

We have stayed at the Ramada Limited Suites on Dollywood Lane. Very nice, sleeper sofa and two double beds in bedroom. They also had a continental breakfast (fresh waffles). I can't help much on the price, and we did stay in the fall. Another place we have stayed is Fairfield Inn and Suites, address 168 Parkway Gatlinburg North. There are a couple of different ones that is why I gave you the address. It was very nice, directly across the street from Cooters Garage. Big water slide and free breakfast. I don't remember what we paid, but we went in July the year we stayed there and I'm not too much on paying a lot for a hotel unless it's Disney. I look for two things, very clean and free breakfast. Sometimes hard to find at a good price. Hope this helps some. :goodvibes

I don't think I can do quotes yet. Anyways, the room is basically two rooms. One with a queen or king (don't remember) bed and jacuzzi tub and separate bathroom with regular bathtub, the other side has bunk beds and a sleeper sofa and fridge, microwave and sink.

We just recently stayed at the Best Western Plaza Inn in Pigeon Forge, my husband is a rewards member so we went on points but the price is so cheap we should've just paid. We stayed in a section with mountain view room. This was the view from our room

They also have a great indoor pool, we had a great time and will go back again. It's right next to Dixie Stampede also. :) Also pretty good free breakfast.

My family and I stayed at the Cherokee Lodge last fall. It is a fairly new hotel with a great pool and my DD loved the slide. Rooms all had kitchen with open floor plan. Very clean and modern. The whole weekend for a 2 bedroom with jacuzzi cost $450 give or take. Was well worth it. It is right by the Old Mill District.

If you're willing to consider Townsend, TN (dubbed the quiet side of the Smokies) we stayed in a WONDERFUL little place called the Bunkhouse Inn on the river. Found it on tripadvisor. Rustic but wonderful, and the coffee place at the end of the driveway is to die for-homemade scones, gourmet sandwiches, delicious coffee. There are only six rooms, I think, and they are cheap, but each has a small patio overlooking a tubing river; if you have tubes, you can go right in from there. I think our room was 85/night in July-- no trouble booking only 2 nights, though I did do it well in advance. A mile or so from the park entrance, and a drive over a lovely mtn to Dollywood and other Pigeon Forge attractions--20 minutes away from the honky tonk, which I like, but did not want to be in the middle of. Have fun!
