Good grief

So he wasn't a con artist then?

You could have updated the earlier thread so others would know what you're referring to (assuming this is one of the "cons" you've complained about).

It is one of the cons I complained about. When someone takes advantage of the Vinted system and disappears with your goods with no payment for almost a month, you tend to assume the worst :(

Wouldn’t it be great if some of these prolific posters could get all their threads combined into one super thread?
Actually, I wouldn't mind that being done to myself. I post a lot of random yet repetitive threads about certain things and I have no doubt it probably gets tedious for some people. It's either that or become a reputable poster ;)

But didn't YOU agree to go outside of the Vinted system?

And again, since they paid you, there is no "con".

Except when they do that, as they have in the past, it just make the thread nonsense.
True. The one super thread that the mods created was very confusing because all the answers were from like 20 different threads lol

Maybe that’s why it has t been done again.

See, after three weeks of waiting, I was pretty sure I'd been conned. Vinted were no use. As it turned out, everything was hunky dory, so I have no complaints as it happens :)

But you went outside of Vinted, right? So why would you expect them to help when you didn't follow their procedure?

They have a reputation to uphold. However, you are right, in circumventing the usual procedures for whatever reason, I forfeited any legal recourse I had against Vinted as a trading entity. That, however, does NOT mean that a non-paying body does not smack of a scam. I was just fortunate they had a legitimate reason to withhold funds and coughed up... eventually. I am sure you can see my logic.

Yes, I understand your logic, I just don't think it's valid. The fact you went away from the Vinted process, IMO, means they are in no way responsible for you not getting payment, and aren't responsible for helping.

And it turns out you weren't being conned at all. Your buyer ended up paying, therefore they weren't scamming or conning you. I understand why you thought that at the time, but calling them a "con artist" after you've received money is unfair. Of course, IMO.

That's the thing. I called them a con-artist when it looked for all the wold like a scam. C'est la vie.

Oh, I can see why you're crossing wires with my post... I called them a "con artist" at the top of this thread post-payment. I assure you this was only contextual.
